It’s not even gate keeping. Have you made a group?
Do you have any idea how many people join queue a dps? Why should I take a risk on you over someone I can at least somewhat measure?

If people don’t like io then don’t use it when you make your own groups. Done no more io.
If you don’t like other people using it on their groups then feel free to start paying for their subscription
If you ever want to see what a group without io would be like, turn off raider io, and form a group by the charity of your mind and disable ilvl too. Be the change people want to see! *
Guess I will say this again in the past raider io hate threads, its fine as it is, it doesnt need to be banned, pick up the slack, learn your spec and grind io score to get accepted which its not hard at all or you know there is a thing called guilds and friends or a thing called make your own group. Item level is no longer an indication of skill anymore.
If I want to do a 15+ key, I would like to know someone experience in that dungeon, and lets say this here, doing a key beyond 12+ is where you need to know the dungeon and know your spec… so what happens when you invite people who don’t meet the criteria (i.e low io score and no experience with their spec? or just trying to get a carry and essentially it will be leeching off others)? well… the run will be rough and it will not be a fun experience for you if you choose to invite people with low io score or just trying to get a free carry, I will share some of my experiences and from others in my guild when you essentially have someone with no experience.
In my other alt, I have beat 2 (one being last season) timers in Temple of Sethraliss, did the run go bad? no, did you have a dps disconnect? yes. I dont think wouldnt be an example but generally, in the criteria, they we’re in it for a free carry, even hell one of the dps the first run came back on but hearthed out and did not leave the group. Generally hoped they didn’t get loot at the end of the week.
One of my guildmates decided to go do a shrine of the storm pug in this example of someone having a low io score to do a shrine of the storm 11+ and having no experience of the dungeon what so ever, keep in mind this a healer by the way, he ended up out healing the healer as a prot warrior, he died the most in the group and he kept getting lost and having his group to backtrack to get him which wastes so much of the groups time which to the point at the last boss, he ditched the healer and killed the boss without the healer. The group was in 20+ minutes over time, after killing the last boss, he loot the chest and instantly leaves, Not an enjoyable experience and neither not for the others since generally mostly the healer was wasting everyone elses time and I wasn’t there in the group to see what it unfold but from the guildmate it was a disaster, this is the example of what will it lead as to why people use raider io, to get a smoother run and a smoother experience that is not like this.
Hilariously, to put it in context, I was doing an 18JY last night. We were looking to 2.2k+, and due to having a mage and rogue, we chose DH for our third dps. We spent about 30 minutes in queue waiting for the right DH. Out group was explicitly listed " 18 DH" under the Operation Mechagon: Junkyard dungeon selection. We had pallies and mages and rogues and hunters, and basically every class under the sun queuing despite saying we wanted a DH.
As far as Raider IO… it’s not providing exclusion, segregating the community, adding another layer of gatekeeping, and certainly above all, It’s not intended to do any of that. RIO’s intended use is to inform the player of each person’s statistics, and show whether or not that person with that spec and class are a good fit for you group. The reason I’m in favour of Raider io is that it reduces both the “bad player (i.e. someone w/o 17’s done)” count and the toxicity. The higher you go beyond +15, the less toxicity you’ll generally encounter.
you killed your guild didnt you? they needed you to be able to keep raiding and you left them and they died. didn’t you?
You’re not entitled to other peoples’ time, bud.
my coin is less valued than yours so i pay way more than you, and besides nobody cares if you pay for the game since everyone is doing the same thing…
also if you check my character i do many mythics, so no, im not the guy you think im am…
i simple have emphaty over those who got frustrated upon what i been complaining about, if you cant understand this then get lost
Raider .io lets you have you main linked to your alts, scrubs that do not understand how to use tools should not complain about tools
Why does my hammer not screw in this screw?
you invalidated my example and you´re right congratulations…but you still did not invalidated my whole point, i still stand correct about the social exclusion, i may not be part of them but that does not stop me from understand that
I have. There are a dozen DPS queues in 10sec. My IO and key history shows I’m capable of at least 10+ on my alt. I can’t find a group within 30min in most cases (as DPS). Went back to tanking so I can actually play the game.
800 IO score @ ilvl 450 and I haven’t even touched a few the instances. Signing up for +6’s because I cannot compete with players running +10’s at 460 ilvl. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Plus, I’m always #1 or #2 on boss dps, and usually #1 for overall damage… I always have top interrupts. I use my cooldowns on trash, my damage taken is very low.
But I cannot link my logs, so I’m at the mercy of a score that doesn’t actually capture my contribution to the groups I’ve been in. I don’t like it, but I get why it’s a thing.
I have made most of my friends through using io. It tells me that we are a likely to have something in common straight away so maybe chat with this guy.
First, how does anyone know you pull 35k-40k dps? Are you linking your logs to them? Second, if you have zero experience in the dungeon, if I imagine you’ve maybe never done it, I wouldn’t want you in my key. I’ll take higher IO over higher ilvl, because experience trumps gear.
Also, the bigger issue has nothing to do with IO, ilvl, or anything else. You’re trying to queue as a dps. Put up a key listing, and see how many dps queue for it. If you want to get in quick and easy, tank or heal.
Like that wasn’t happening before “IO”? I mean we had gear score checks and achievements. What do you think we just should submit a name to the group and you are informed of nothing else? IO only gives the group the chance to make a decision based upon your EXPERIENCE in mythic+ content.
If you don’t have any, then earn some and stop crying about it. And this is coming from someone with a sub 300 score
your friendships are your problem and i have nothing to do with that, so im not gonna judge this, yet if you want my opinion i do not think of this as true friendship.
Hey look the 9 millionth Ret Paladin whining about how they can’t get into a group.
99/100 times these ‘I HATE RAIDERIO’ threads are started by bad dps mains.
Let me guess, you play ret.
My mistake. The guy that I spend an average of 4+ hours a day chatting with in discord isn’t a real friendship after all because someone on the wow forums said do.
Dam
Idk how I’m going to tell him. He will be gutted lol
Of course he does. Ret is for laying down the Lawl.
