Here’s the thing though - look at what people were saying before Dragonflight was revealed - “just end this expansion now so we can move onto the next one”. While mechanically this all makes sense and I agree, would people have willing to have stomached knowing Jailer was out there for all this time? I don’t think so.
I think if they made it more personal for the Jailer(the raid) and really tied up loose ends people would of waited for it.
I main DH so I want DF as much as the next guy(my class is garbage right now). Reworked talents sound like a blessing rn, but I still wanted the work my guild put in to be rewarded, I mean we’ve gotten CE almost every tier since WoD.
I think the main problem is the damm parses. People aren’t interested in doing mechanics because they lose damage, they make the fights more difficult on purpose to be able to have more and more purple logs (do aoe in anduin’s intermission, hit rygelon’s stars and kill all 6 together).
I feel that the raid was not difficult, it only had 2 bosses that were really demanding, which were Halandrus (this guy was hard) and Anduin (which could perfectly have been a final boss). I can’t speak for Jailer because I couldn’t get there in time to see the fight before the nerfs. In that sense, Blizzard could have done two different raids and defeating Anduin was the requirement to enter the next raid. Also Anduin and Jailer did not give any loot that was worth the effort. Jailer could have drop a Token multi-tier. but right now is… why do i have to kill hero Jailer?? Sylvanas had a legendary bow and a domination gem, Denatrius a pet and a the maw ring. Even if Jailer had dropped a single use token that give you a 272 conduit it was worth.
Another thing that according to me should not be is that the M + give the possibility of obtaining the same gear as raid through the great vault. You literally have to defeat the final 3 bosses to get any increase in ilvl. When my group killed Mythic Anduin, no one was interested in the loot and we didn’t even notice what he dropped. it was the least rewarding victory ever. Not even the raid trinkets are important because the M+ trinkets are much better in every way. And to make things EVEN worse, you have to get 3000 io for conduits.
Raids should nerf themselves as the group progresses and gets more and more gear, but currently a group starts the raid with maxed gear. Fewer players did the raid not because it was overtunned, but because it is useless.
My recommendation is that raids should give more gear than M+ and that M+ groups have a maximum input gear. That is, if a character has 280 gear, the same game should lower their gear to 272 (as it works in timewalking) so that people who do M+ do not feel forced to raid to have maximum gear. and that people who raid don’t have to M+ to get the best trinkets.
google translated. =)
I feel like we (collective we, the forum we) are already starting to forget just how despised this expansion was, especially during 9.1 That was 8 months where people were just in a state of perpetual malding, and in some cases with good reasons. 9.1 was so bad people just wanted the whole expansion over. I feel like a lot of the good will that has returned is people have mentally allowed themselves to forget this expansion already and look forward to DF, and that wouldn’t have been possible if the actual end of the expansion still lingered.
The ending of this expansion was also horrible. But at least the band-aid was ripped off and we’ve moved on from it. All eyes are on DF, other than a minority of players who are scrambling to finish CE.
5 to be exact. Very short season. It been a long 4 months, though.
Imagine releasing an overtuned raid for 4/5 months with AOTC mount and then expecting people to somehow beat it in 1 month after nerfs…oh wait it happened. They need to extend AOTC mount into S4.
AOTC mount is extended into S4… just not the title.
Oh really? I thought they were going to discontinue it. Good to hear. Didn’t know there was a title thought,…thats sad.
The achievement, not an actual title. I just mean that people say they’re AOTC and link AOTC if they have it, but you won’t be AOTC if you wait to kill it.
Yeah but you know as well as I do that that’s coming from the people who subscribe to the game and don’t even play it. The same people who get bored a week after a new patch releases because “there’s nothing to do” because they don’t do anything.
The same people who were complaining during BfA “just release Shadowlands NOW because we’re desperate to play it!” and then complained when it got pushed back even though everyone in beta KNEW it wasn’t remotely ready.
It’s really stupid that Mythic Anduin only drops 278 gear. They should have addressed that months ago.
The mount will still be available in S4, though, just not the achievement.
I can think of at least one other form of content that should be able to drop 285 loot but only drops 278.
On a serious note, surprised they didn’t give Anduin a Veinripper-tier weapon. The rings are nice but there’s just something that hits different about a weapon.
Can’t wait to see heroic Rygelon with M+ afixes on top of the already next to near-impossible “perfect fight” you must have to even beat him.
M Ryl stopped being hard as soon as they nerfed the soaks from 4->3. Its basically heroic tuned up a bit now.
The teir would have been a lot better with andy dropped 285, and instead of his skip, 2 separate skips for both lihu and haldrous
That would be one snooze fest of a teir. CE raiders didn’t really like mythic EN.
The most beloved raids all had several 100+ pull fights and a 300+ end boss (CN, BRF…)
Every boss should be individually skippable - you kill it 4 times, you can just make it despawn in the future.
Having these “skips” where we have to kill 4 bosses to do the “skip” isn’t a skip.
And nobody wants to kill fricking Guardian for the umpteenth time. (Or Tarragrue, or Shriekwing)
Blizzard needs to add raiders to their staff. Because they obviously don’t have any.
Didn’t Ion quit raiding in SoD as well?
Per-skip bosses would really ruin the feel of the raid imo, it would be more like serving up a boss via some UX than progressing through a dungeon…
They can be non-lazy about it and make the raids more like BRF, ZG, or Ulduar, where there’s more open format and you can pick and choose what you want organically.
Or first tier of cata with 3 separate raids & a nice change of scenery, or kara with multiple entrances…
I think its no mystery why those are the most-loved raids by the community. Skips are lazy.
