Raid Rewards Experiments in Season 4

They just want to avoid showing you stuff that your active spec can’t use. probably at least in part so CS doesn’t have to deal with tickets from hunters who accidentally bought the polearm instead of a bow

You have been waiting about Draenei Heritage Armor? I think that will be added on Patch 10.0 as have seen it.

Ok, so I’m not crazy, and we were able to buy tier with badges in wrath within the first couple of weeks? I have a very distinct memory of buying the druid moon looking helm and being pretty ecstatic about it not only because it was a tier set upgrade, but also because it looked cool. But I’m pretty sure we still needed class token/trophies for TotC and ICC gear, right?

These sound like fantastic ideas, and I’m glad you guys are willing to throw stuff out there and see what sticks. I know it’s not super easy to shake up entrenched ideas and formats but these sound like they could work.

My hope is that with assets like raids being reused, that retention rates will go up or at least plateau. A populated WoW is a happy WoW and things like the talent tree giving greater customization, a new class, less burdensome systems and the new fated system, I’m hoping that DF will be player rich and alt friendly.

I don’t know why they think anyone wants to rerun the previous tier raids that they already spent a whole tier farming, to maybe get items you already have but are just a few ilvls higher now. Especially considering how long Shadowlands tiers have been due to them cutting a whole tier.

I get that it’s just another way for them to cost cut and try and deliver less content by reusing everything, but how about a release cadence that allows you to continually release new stuff?

If there are incentives people will chase them. Besides, it gives people a chance to go into previous raids with greater levels of gear and knowledge so previous rewards will also be available.

This isn’t that. They’re adding onto systems and enriching them, they aren’t adding parasitic systems that are then thrown away. This is a good thing and we should be happy about these changes. If raiding isn’t for you that’s fine you don’t have to jump back into the raids, but this will help with downtime issues and give greater incentives for people to group up and stay in the game.

As far as “continually release new stuff” that’s what we get either way, and this just adds to base systems, so I don’t see anything wrong with that.

in what world if Zm a ghost town? lol
also 3/4 their playerbase? what?

Only for ICC

For ICC you needed to earn badges of frost from your daily heroic, and clearing the raid, you then used this to buy your base teir gear. after that you then had to do the raid on normal to get tokens to upgrade them, and then again on heroic to get tokens to upgrade them a second time.

badges only got you base gear that was eqaul to 10 man normal. there was no way to get heroic gear with badges, you had to buy your teir with badges and then upgrade those teir pieces by doing normal and then heroic and getting lucky.

Raiding is for me, which is why I already cleared them and spent months upon months farming them due to the continual content droughts it SL.

Now we are expected to be happy that we get to go back and farm the exact same raids we have spent the whole expansion farming?

Raiding is already almost pointless for anyone AOTC raiding and below due to the trivial nature of getting Mythic raid gear from failing M+ keys.

These changes - adding some random affixes to make trash even more tedious to clear or bosses you were already farming have some random extra mechanics that just make it annoying does not help.

so you only raid for gear?
if its not fun dont do it
it would not bother me
if they put currency for anyone
to work up to top ilvl
other peoples gear does not affect me

because WoW is at the cutting edge of PVE development so every new move is uncharted.

Raiding for gear is fun.
Raiding to beat all the bosses is fun.
Clearing the Raid for 6 months for non existant gear because I can just fail a few M+15 (or not fail them, makes no difference) and get gear better than anything in the raid is not fun.-

i couldnt agree more
i get gear to have fun

i think thats why we see
so many get AOTC and quit
they need to stop making so much
content for just a few people
start working on content for the mass
but hating or nerffing m+ will not help

This is just an addition to the game, you don’t have to raid if you don’t want to raid… you’ll be OK, just take a breather, you’ll… be… OK… trust me.

If it’s already almost pointless, then how is adding more to it, somehow making it MORE pointless? The raiding scene will now be more complex with more options, and that’s somehow MORE pointless?

Actually, they sound more like in-fight objectives, and when completed will make the fights easier overall, while initially more difficult.

Again, this is bonus content that you’re complaining about. You still get your expansions, you still get your raid tiers, this just makes things more interesting. This shakes things up in a meaningful way. The other option is do nothing and keep the stagnate system that throws away the first 1-3 raid tiers, followed by a 3rd or 4th raid tier that people chew through ending in an insane amount of downtime. Downtime isn’t fun or interesting, and this tries to help with that.

It’s not bonus content. We lost a whole tier of content, even though SL has cost the most of any wow expansion to date. We’ve had the longest tiers of no new content out of any wow expansion.

Stop pretending that making us re-run the same raids we’ve spent the whole expansion clearing is something we should be grateful for. Blizzard want our money and expect us to keep paying - they should be providing value for money and content, not continually seeing how little they can get away with providing before we unsubscribe.

Yes it is.

Blizzard has stated otherwise.

Again, if raiding isn’t for you, then by all means don’t do it.

Yes, Blizzard is out to get you, better watch out those devs want you personally to suffer.

we ASKED the SL expansion to end.

this is what we wanted.

we … you … did this.

karate kicks and psychic mind blasts… watch out!

I think I’ve had way too much sugar… :upside_down_face:

Why limit people to 3x tokens per char? It’s not nice for anyone trying to gear for different content or playing multiple specs (tanking, healing and dpsing) since the items you target usually never works for more than one role.
