It’s really not a problem. Very few guilds are going to spam the same raid all lockout just to get gold.
And because loot locks are more friendly to pugging people are more willing to risk their lockout on a potentially bad group making the demand for said services lower in the first place.
Loot locks are simply superior to raid id locks all around.
I agree that Raid ID is outdated, but the loot system is as well, I even made a post about it. There should be a review on Raid ID + Loot system to make it more efficient and less “save or suck” every 3 days based on the random players you end up playing together.
Maybe change to a per-boss Raid Lockout + Individual Loot would resolve the issue. People would get the loot from what they kill regardless of raid leader / loot distribution, and it would also solve the issue of people not wanting to have too many of the same class.
Just run on an alt and pass on loot if you want to santa claus, knowing the fights is 94.72% This is really about being able to make content videos filled with cheese, ARG we downed the boss but my pocket healer was in the frame, RESHOOT
I would argue that even having a 3 day lockout is still ridiculous. The main draw to the game can be played 4 times a month on retail and 10 times a month on SoD. Do people even log in for those other 20 days?
thats mainly cause theres A TON OF CONTENT, theres only 2 raids my guy. Of course people arent going out of their way but you also arent hurting for players. I could jump on retail right now and hit up an amerdrissal raid like nothing and not even LFR - Normal. If we had loot lock people would be more willing to even accept 40 mans as a thing but as it stand 40 mans start coming up we’ll have this same talk cause in no way is it gonna be feasible
I watched this video yesterday too and knew that’s why this post came up. It’s a valid point and for those of you that don’t know it came up because Ziqo couldn’t get in a gnomer so made his own and picked all of the undesirable specs. This led to discussion about people being so picky because they don’t want to waste a lockout and Asmon discussed alternate lockouts that would allow for more inclusive and relaxed invites.
thats crazy cause I legit did not experience this on my retail hunter and did amerdrissal to normal casually multiple runs. I’ve had runs fall apart but I went and picked up another raid just as easily and like I told the weird asmon poster. I’ve been complaining about it since phase 1 check “bigusdoinkus” posts, im a certified Raid ID hater put some respect on my name
You’re comparing apples and oranges in my opinion here. In retail you have a much larger player base, horde & alliance can group together, flex raids and cross-realm grouping. Your pool of groups to choose from is vastly larger compared to those on a single server in SoD. The experience would not be similar in SoD unless they started allowing those things from retail into SoD.
You have it boss locked, not loot locked. You can’t repeat kill bosses that way. Also, even if loot locked, what’s a bigger problem right now in sod, rmt, or the ultra elitist raid scene, that makes high m+ look inclusive? Gnomer is killing guilds left and right, and it’s all the raid id system.
The experience could easily be the same easily regardless of the extra stuff cause Retail never fixed server balance in its early life. SoD did or at least stopped the flow of the faction sided unbalance so theres enough players on both sides of the servers. They could easily have loot locks and it would 100% fix most of the problems with raids as it stand cause player will still go 6/6 xp or whatever but the random groups that failed or might have lost somebody at any point in the group can just pick up somebody whos looking for 3/6 ect. and somebody could just join and leave but if you find someone that easily it would be just as easier to replace them
