I’ve only been pugging raids and I just logged in to notice that my RAID ID was still last week’s ID after this week’s reset. How could it be possible that I’m ineligible for loot drops on the bosses I helped down last week? I thought everyone’s RAID ID’s were reset upon weekly reset.
If the raid leader extended the ID, then you would be saved to it still.
Holy cow, that’s hardly fair. Are you sure that when the raid leader locks out a raid ID that it’s just locked out under his/her account? This can’t be right. All players should have individual raid ID’s.
Where is the ‘buyer beware’ for pug players when it comes to that? I wasn’t informed that there was going to be a lock out when I joined or after I left.
Someone confirm this because this just isn’t right. How could you stand by that?
Because that is 100% how it works.
You would have - there is a "You’re saved to the … " notice in chat.
So what that means is that my personal account is indefinitely at the mercy of other player’s decisions. Like I said before, that can’t be right.
It’s been like that for many many years.
Indefinitely? Probably not. That would require the Raid Leader to continually extend the raid lockout.
It’s the downside of pugging.
Well (should RL’s intend on locking out) there should be a pronounced red letter notice in “Premade Group” finder that states what pug players are about to invest their time and effort in.
You can use the in-game Suggestion tool, or head over to the Dungeon, Raid, and Scenario’s Forum if you want to suggest something that Blizzard do on their end.
For what it’s worth, I agree with you that there should be some way to individually detach yourself from a raid ID, but I have zero clue how the mechanics of it all works.
These were the articles I could find pertaining to the locks. As far as I can see, it’s all working as intended at the moment.
You might be putting the cart before the horse here.
Did you actually go in the instance with it extended, Korbynn? Unless you extended the raid ID or were grouped with someone who did when it was extended, you shouldn’t be locked into that ID.
None of your Raid ID’s appear to be extended, they all appear to have reset but they are listed in case you wish to extended it. Or am I missing something?
Well, there is an element of uncertainty. I can tell you that all the same bosses I helped down on norm and heroic from last week are still showing a ‘red out’ indicating they’re loot locked.
Does it also say “reset”, indicating that the raid ID was reset? If you click on it do you have the option to extend it? If it is giving you the option you aren’t extended. If you were, but not locked yet, it should give you the option to unextend it, as far as I understand the mechanic.
Yes, I did notice that the extend option was an active option. Actually, I just looked and that option is labeled “Reactivate Raid Lock”.
If that’s the case, you’re fine. It’ll show you the bosses you defeated last week so you know what you’re extending. As long as you don’t extend it (or join another lockout in progress), you’ll start fresh.
With the weekly reset I expected the Raid instances Boss lists to return to a fresh reset mode. I don’t really know what to anticipate should I go in and start downing those bosses I cleared last week. How would I even know those Red out bosses weren’t loot locked to me if I were to receive the standard gold without loot, which I’m assuming is the scripted protocol? How would I know they weren’t loot locked or if it was just random bad luck for loot drops? This all seems like falling through the cracks.
Vrakthris, if you can see my Raid ID, can you not see the lists are red out (loot locked) bosses stating ‘defeated’?
On the raid info tab it should say “expired” next to any lockouts from the week before; unless you extend it. If you extend it, it will say “extended” in green text as well as give you a countdown to when your extended lockdown will expire.
For normal/heroic raids you never have to worry about your lockout unless you go in and extend it yourself.
Mythic raids are their own beast, and joining an in-progress group will save you to any bosses killed, whether you are there or not.
You are fine to go in a start killing any of the bosses you want. As long as you don’t extend it, all the bosses will be available. Additionally; once you enter the raid (without extending) any bosses you haven’t killed this lockout will change to “available”
If you are ever loot locked to a boss and you kill it a second time, you’ll know you were locked because you won’t be able to loot the boss at all.
I’m still very reluctant here because my Raid ID’s clearly state that all the bosses I defeated last week are still registering as red out defeated. After reading the insights and suggestions here, I’m still left wondering why and whether or not I’m good to go again during this reset.
Here’s a screenshot of what you should be seeing. I used my heroic lockout from last week since we didn’t get very far.
In the screenshot I’ve extended it, but since I haven’t killed anything in the raid I can un-extended by clicking option to remove the extension. Every other lockout says expired. If it says expired, you aren’t saved anymore, unless you extend it.
It still shows the bosses you killed last week as “defeated” so you know what’s been killed and what’s available if you decide to extend it, even if you’ve killed every boss the week before.
As long as it says expired and you don’t extend the lockout; if you enter the raid you’ll be at the beginning with every boss available.
Truly appreciate the input from everyone. In truth it means more to me that people were kind enough to offer assistance for the sake of caring. That itself means more to me than a bis any day of the week.
