Raid gear ilvl should be lowered in open world

Here’s a proposed solution to the gearing issue that causes a lot of issues amongst raiders and those who don’t raid (let’s use casual in this case).

Casuals want better gear, so they can improve their character, complete their objectives faster, etc. Raiders day they need to earn their great and if they are not raiding then why do they need the gear. Using the same logic, if raiders are doing other things in the game then the gear should change to a lower ilvl that’s more suitable for the tall they are doing. If they are doing a world quest that offers a level 200 item, then their gear should scale down to that level. Star all went do they need the raids gear of they are not currently raiding.

Then the raiders would be whining.

They aren’t saints.

This is a terrible idea and will bring you nothing but scorn.

Seems like a good compromise.

Is this a serious take?

I don’t even know where to start. I just have a compulsion to express how ridiculous this is though.

So you want raid gear to scale down when they do casual content but in the same breath you say you want casuals to be able to gain higher ilvl gear to complete that same content.

You’re literally admitting that casual content doesn’t require high ilvl gear while also suggesting that casuals should have a path to high ilvl gear lol.

So if this was actually implemented a casual player would have a higher ilvl than a mythic raider if they were both doing the same WQ. Sounds ridiculous

To tear down raiders for a change I’m all for it.

Lol really? You just want to piss off a section of the player base for no reason? Pretty immature thought process but I’m assuming you’re a kid so it’s expected.

If it ends buy and sell carries, sure.

Casuals should do harder content if they want better rewards. End of story.

Game should be for everyone but here we are.

I’d sign off on this. PvP gear has 2 modes. lets keep that trend going.

No. I’m not a hardcore raider by any means but I do understand that if you bust your butt to earn something, you deserve to flaunt it.

it is for everyone. there’s no content in the game that’s inaccessible to anyone who’s willing to put in the time and effort to do it

Or pay extra.

yes, that’s how the world works. some people have extra money and they’re willing to pay for convenience. it’s not unique to video games or to wow.

Others call it pay to win.

okay, so you don’t actually have a gameplay issue with boosts, you just have strong moral opinions about how other people spend their money

My favorite aspect of this thread: at the time of my posting, the GD topic directly below it is about RAISING the ilvl of casual gear.

Can you imagine if casual quest blues were a higher ilvl than epic gear off the final boss of a raid? lol
