Default UI is BiS. I’ll never understand how people need 5+ addons for healing when the standard UI and a brain is all you need. I could see it being an issue for clickers though…
I’ve been using it for awhile can take awhile to get it how you like it and takes getting used to but can customize everything. If you can’t change something it’s not since you can’t it’s since you haven’t seen how.
It’s worthwhile once you get it how you want which talking to someone that uses of the same spec can help get a basic build than edit from there to suit you.
As a alll in one addon va many little ones also it’s less prone to compatibility issues between addons but it means when it has a bug it tosses everything out good news there vary fast at fixing issues norm a day
I’ve always used Vuhdo.
I like it. Has tons of options.
First time I set it up, I just grabbed a preset from wago(dot)io and just tweaked a little.
Here is what it looks like. https://imgur.com/a/Q2GOOYm
Older group screenshot I found. (names blacked out)
and singular bar screenshot is me right now being alone. And how it tracks my HoTs
yep nothing here besides some mouseover macros. The default raid frames bug out enough, dont need more problems with modified ones
edit i do have HealBarsClassic. just shows incoming heals from other healers. had it since vanilla and forgot i even had it. amazing addon, i’m sure many others achieve the same function
The reason people used add ons is because the UI gave 0 information. Since they are using the retail raid frames theres no real reason to use an add on for it.
Vuhdo 100%! It’s one of the most highly customizable addons I’ve ever used and you can tweak it to look and work precisely how you want it to. I use it on every character whether it’s a healer or otherwise, since you can bind whatever you like to clicks + modifier keys and mouse buttons, such as items (like bandages) or macros. And if you don’t like clicks for bindings, you can also use it for mouseover macros like default UI or other raid frame addons.
Here’s a video of my Vuhdo setup: https://i.imgur.com/2xqusHM.mp4 Sorry for the bad quality.
Exactly! When my guild was first getting OK at raiding the first wrath go around we weren’t using addons at all. There was a fight (KT I think?) that had a debuff that needed to be dispelled, so we had folks call out when they had it in Vent so we could dispell it. Finally a guildie discovered Grid and everything became simple.
I can’t imagine doing a fight like that PvP simulating one in TOC without knowing who was cc’ed. I was our guild’s designated dispeller for that fight and would do 100 to 200 dispells each time, so Grid was definitely necessary.
I’m about to start doing dungeons/bgs on this toon which is why I asked what folks are using. From some of the responses it sounds like the default UI might show debuffs now, although it hasn’t been directly stated. Otherwise I’ll use Elv UI or Vuhdo like folks here have recommended. More data when making split second decisions is a good thing.
It does show debuffs and buffs. So if you have a HoT or shield it will show up with the timer. You can also change it so it only shows debuffs you can dispel.
Awesome! I’ll try a few runs with the default and see how it flows, and if I don’t like it nice folks have given me good recommendations for alternatives.
I use default ui frames and use keybinds to target party members. Its a lot of extra keybinds for raiding though so i just bind the main 2 groups and click the other groups.
