When Cataclysm classic was announced they did mention lFR and they did say that they would have to redesign the raids before dragon soul
so that it would most likely be introduced when dragon soul is
so yes it’s somewhat annoying but hopefully we do get it with dragon soul
You could que for Dragon Soul LFR as many times as you wanted. You just couldn’t roll on the loot that dropped on bosses you already killed. Corpsetwo is right.
Take out the loot and let’s see how many people want the “story”
No you want a frictionless bs raid environment that gives you a fake sense of accomplishment via unearned items.
Just like gamma dungeons, it devalues the good content and puts a bunch of high item level grey parsers into the ecosystem who think they “deserve” to be in your raid group.
aka the raid finder isn’t the one we really want
and they’re not going to bother to fix it up.
rdf was begged for, for years and then they
tried to gas light us.
I think ultimately it will need to come out in MOP. Or the “legendary” chain catchup will be a disaster because when you think about it… its really an expansion long situation that is mostly raid quests. Yes, I can hear it already, people can always take you back to the old raids… yeah… you can just play the whole time… it should be a meaningful reward… blah blah blah… but the reality is most of those things are pipe dreams with how people play the game in 2024 and beyond obviously for MOP. Even though I know some people will die on this hill… oh well is all I can say to that.
So, imo, it needs to be there for MOP so you probably should just push it in for Cata at the end when it came out so that it is functional and ready to go for that.
Truth is hard but LFR really isn’t a blight to the game. Did it have some problems when it was first launched in Cata which turned it into a toxic tier set hunt for guilds… and the roll system lent its way to just roll need on everything to ransom for other items… etc… sure. Most of those issues were ironed out in Cata itself with time. In MOP they were less an issue. It won’t be replacing raiding as hard as it did back then. Most groups will grind heroic and eventually mythic content. Normals and eventually heroic content will still be run because people only care about BIS and raid logging for the spreadsheet these days. LFR will seriously be just something extra to do if you want to do you do it… or if you got nothing else going on for you it is there to fill the void.
Thats it… its the hard truth. A lot of people won’t like it but is pretty much how it is.
Imma need you to stop using common sense on the forums and put on a tin-foil hat and come up with 100 nonsensical reasons why LFR has not been added please
They should drop tier sets, they should just be of lesser ilvl. Like a “looking for raid” version of the same gear. Keep the set bonuses but nerf the stats.
I would not be against it dropping the previous raid teirs teir items as a catch up system, but it shouldn’t drop the DS teir loot, even at a reduced item level, because of how strong DS teir is for most classes.
#nochanges from the original.
Let LFR come out with Dragon Soul and have the same loot, ilvl requirements, mechanics, etc.
If hardcore raiders feel the need to “have to” use LFR to obtain certain tier pieces, then that’s on them.
