Hey guys I have an idea for making it easier to “bring the player, not the class.”
When inside any cataclysm raid, in a full raid group (10 or 25 players), all players receive the “Horn/Drums of Valor” buff. This buff grants every single class buff to all players, at 80% power. It’s like the kings scroll in wotlk granted 8% stats rather than the full 10%. The individual buffs will be overwritten by the full power version of the buff provided by an attending class.
This would provide a little more leniency in forming raid comps, especially for 10man, while still rewarding putting in the effort of assembling an ideal comp to get the full power version of the buffs. It doesn’t have to be 80%, can reduce the power of the “free” buffs down to a level that does not encourage simply stacking 6/18 fire mages.
Its not the worst idea I’ve seen but I think it will get abused by insane minmaxers to remove the classes that grant that specific unique buff and replace it with an unholy dk or a mage with the 80% horn
I agree, it might have to be toned down to 50-60% power. Or rather than getting all buffs there is an npc you talk to to activate up to 3-5 missing class buffs at 80% power. The goal is to free up comps who are concerned about missing a key buff without enabling what you just mentioned about hypermaxxing stacking many of a single class.
