LFR is on bois
Super amped about these nerfs so my 8/10 guild can get farmed by npcs in the next tier too
Everyone who remembers T6 say it’s generally a step down from T5 so I’m sort of expecting to blitz through most of it. Honestly T5 wasn’t really bad expect for KT and Vashj anyways.
Only fight I remember giving us grief was Archimonde.
I can see some groups struggling for a day or so on RoS or Bloodboil if you have weak kickers, people unable to watch threat meters or weak healers. But if you’ve downed Vashj and KT - only Archimonde should be difficult at all
The amount of people here that dont realize that these arent the full 2.1 nerfs is embarrassing.
In og TBC 2.1 released after 4 months. SSC/TK were FULLY nerfed after 4 months … and people here are whining that PARTIAL SSC/TK nerfs are going in after 6.5 months.
Get a grip.
Yeah those lore figures that can’t tell a playable character from a thornling plant. maybe they don’t deserve as many followers in their stronghold
T5 was released at launch in 2007
In classic it’s been open for 10 weeks.
What an insanely disingenuous comparison… T5 came out 2 months ago this time around.
And how much of that time after launch in 2007 were people attempting to clear SSC? Hint: it was way less than the 3 months we are getting before PARTIAL nerfs.
There also weren’t thousands of guilds clearing the raids.
I’m keeping this screenshot for special moments.
I could mention that these instances were nerfed and adjusted pretty regularly, and this expansion was when they started nerfing content as a means of gating people so that everyone got a chance to do everything, but the first players through had a chance to see the content in it’s most challenging form.
The reason I don’t think this is an effective argument is because (as I think I mentioned earlier) nobody cares about other people’s personal morals regarding the difficulty of the video game we’re playing. Nobody cares if I personally would rather they have stuck to the original timeline or if I want the content to be easy or hard. TBH, I’m not THAT invested in whether the nerfs go forward because I’m ok with being in a more casual guild for the moment.
Regardless of what you or I think, it’s going to be nerfed on December 14th. There’s not much point in discussing the morality of the matter.
What’s more interesting is trying to figure out what that might mean for the timing of Phase 3.
If you’re going to try and post a gotcha try to be accurate.
SSC/TK has not been out for as long as it was in 2007 for the original nerfs to be implemented on the same timeline.
They are nerfing the content at the 3 month mark which in classic was about the phase timeline they were going for…I’m assuming p2 will be 4 - 5 months owing to holidays and there being no PTR yet
My suggestion earlier was for them to nerf the raids 2-4 weeks before the release of the next tier to alleviate some of the issues caused by attunements, and then to never nerf future content mid-phase again.
Since 2 weeks after December 14th is between Christmas and New Years (a very poor time to release “new” content), I would suggest that it’s possible that Phase 3 will drop in mid january.
If the PTR comes out around December 14, we’ll know.
Yeah, try and be accurate:
- In 2007 SSC/TK released at launch … when everyone was lvl 60, paladins/shamans were starting at lvl 1, nobody knew anything about the zones, quests, dungeons, mechanics, talents, spells, or attunements … and they got a FULLY nerfed SSC/TK after 4 months.
- In 2021 when SSC/TK released … everyone was already lvl 70 and cleared Kara, Mag, Gruul with a HUGE head start (you want to ignore that part). Then we got a month of PTR, then 3 months until PARTIAL nerfs. So, still 4 months of access to pre-nerf content.
Nice try.
Why are we comparing the timelines directly? Are you accounting for the squished released schedule in classic vs original TBC? are you accounting for player knowledge? This round of TBC is so much more different than it was that how they did it back then shouldn’t even be a consideration.
Ultimately though, the important thing to Blizz is making changes now to hold their player base. If you think they care about what you want vs their bottom line, you haven’t been paying attention to the last 30 decisions they’ve made that benefit shareholders over players.
Don’t know what to tell you but by the 3 month mark most servers had at least 1-3 guilds progressing through SSC/TK. Which sounds small until you remember even larger guilds didn’t have a lot of semi hardcore or hardcore guilds because most were stuck in Karazhan/Gruul.
It’s just not the gotcha you think it is considering many servers have anywhere from 30-100 guilds full clearing
What makes you think the reason why 8/10 guilds are dying is mainly because of being stuck at 8/10? On our mega server, a lot of them are just quitting out right - not hopping to other guilds.
TBC just isn’t very engaging to a lot of people. Me included. I’m about there myself.
It’s weird to me that nobody is even considering the idea that Blizzard might just release Phase 3 on December 14th.
I know the PTR isn’t out yet, but FFXIV: Endwalker is set to release on December 7th. Goodness knows Blizz isn’t shy about releasing new phases and tiers in December, and they LOOOOVE to do so around the release of other titles.
Well then we are making too many mistakes.
We had huge healer mana issues 5 healing it.
We never made it to phase 3.
We’ll see how this week goes.
