Raid Adjustments Discussion

It’s not about diminishing the value it’s about nerfing content that’s not super hard to make it a roll over is not fun. You find fun in being able to clear the content, we find fun in the small challenge it provides still (even if we’ve been clearing for a long time) so why ruin our fun with a nerf when you can just keep progressing and achieve your fun.

Sometimes you got to choose. Freeloot 5/6 or 3/4 bosses in a raid as per usual or just ignore loot, progress on one of the endbosses and get it down. Once down it’s mostly a free kill too. Always been like that.

I would like to take a moment to say that with another week, less guilds are 8/10 and more are 10/10 now. Keep grinding

You think that being able to CC mind controls and reducing the shield strength on KT is going to make it a roll over? You are truly clueless…

So you know if you killed it in retail you did the nerf’d fight right? Kt was never killed prenerf. Vashj mc was removed very early too like first or 2nd week. T5 was weird remember that tbc released with gruul mag Kara ssc to hyjal and bt at launch only gated by attunement and they didn’t expect people to finish attunement that quickly so the first people in t5 saw fights that were untested bugged or broken.

Nerf them with Phase 3 launch, just like you did with phase 1 content. My 8/10 guild wants a chance to down the bosses the legit way, we don’t care about being behind.

Though in all fairness due to the way attunements work, if yall don’t nerf them before the launch, may see alot of casual guilds collapse as people go elsewhere so they can do the new content.

For us though, we are a pretty new guild that came about from a merger a month ago and haven’t had a chance to really hit vashj/kt. This nerf is too soon from our perspective.

I do agree with you on one point, so many guilds in this thread act like they are good but they just spammed thornlings to bug out an encounter lol. Such skill.

so you mean the “friends” that you made along the way are quitters?

We’re 9/10 as well but doesn’t change the fact that an overwhelming majority of guilds/players haven’t cleared the content. For the sake of saving servers and the game, it should be nerfed. Even Atiesh, a super active ally dominated server is dying more and more every week.

Why are planning on nerfing content that has only been here for a almost 3 months lol most people aren’t even geared with the new tier gear. Can’t make raids more easy or else people will run through them and stop playing until next phase

Why can’t Blizzard just have a difficulty toggle for the raid, similar to how there’s normal dungeons and heroic dungeons.

Leave the harder version of the raid for guilds that want the challenge and a nerfed version of the raid for guilds that want to clear the content.

Just get gud and stop being bad, you’ll get to kill those bosses and get the gear you want.

This is not free real state.

My guild broke up because of the “pre-nerf” bosses. I wish people were more patient but too many took it as a sign of failure.

To the “get good” crowd. Yeah, sure, we could have dumped the underperformers and we probably would have just been fine. Easier said than done. Those players were our friends. Lots of these people had played together since classic. In the end, it’s easier to disband than tell their friends they suck and you don’t want to play with them anymore.

Ultimately, Blizzard is in a far better position to judge whether the nerfs are needed for the health of the game, they know exactly how many guilds are not clearing the content, how many of those guilds have stopped raiding after stalling at 8/10, etc., and of course subscription trends.

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you should find yourself a better guild that isn’t made of crap players.

Good to see the forums are as toxic/elitist as ever

I’m just being honest.
Most guilds cleared the current content with half/less gear of what the current guilds are stuck.

No one was here asking to nerf Kel’Thuzad or Sapphiron when Naxx was there.

You’re being over-sensitive with “being bad player” perhaps thats because you’re one and feel bad about it.

I’m in an 8/10 guild, and progressing on the more difficult, pre-nerf versions of vashj and kael has been the most fun part of tier 5 raiding. We’re not stuck on vashj and kael because we’re not good enough to eventually kill them, we just have a more limited raid schedule that prevents us from progressing at a faster rate. Even still, we’re on pace to kill both before phase 3 launches.

These raids haven’t even been out for 2 months yet in what is an already accelerated version of TBC. A lot of us are playing TBC Classic specifically because the bosses are in their pre-nerf state (at least for the phase in which they’re current) - the more difficult bosses make raiding much more compelling than the faceroll raids in classic that were cleared by most guilds in 2-3 weeks and then mindlessly farmed for months thereafter. Actually having to work towards killing end bosses is a breath of fresh air. The 8/10 guilds that want to kill the pre-nerf versions and are actively working to do so should be given the whole phase to progress towards that. It’s ok if not everyone kills them in phase 2 - they’ll have the rest of the expansion to kill them at easier difficulties.

Maybe you guys could skip TK and focus on Vashj, and then skip SSC and focus on Kael.

Kael is by far the easiest of both, as the RNG is very low and the fight is a learn by progress.

Vashj can be a pain but once you master phase 1-phase 2 by getting everyone alive and dunking the pillars at the right time, you’ll be able to progress through phase 3.

Now, there is an weak aura that would remove automatically weapons from your melee/hunters which can prevent several deaths, or… you can bring 3 tanks and have the other 2 to to taunt and handle the Mind controls. I do handle most MCs in our raid. They even get disarmed.

Taunt.
challenging shout.
Mocking Blow.

Melee hitting the Mc’d people also sometimes make them stop casting (so they would focus on you).

Why do I insist that you try this:

Black Temple + Hyjal will be worse for those who don’t have much time.

Hyjal is time gated (you can’t speed up the trash) and BT has so much trash and bosses, that you guys will have to run either of them if no much time is available. giving a push now and practicing will get you ready for BT / Hyjal.

Better shut the server down then. This is based on pre-nerf values, i love how people forgot that- not the exact pre-nerf numbers. In fact Kael’s doing about 1/3 of his original pre-nerf damage.

I was wondering why that fight was such a joke
