This issue happened in Cataclysm Classic on the character I’m posting from.
After killing Ragnaros this week on Thursday, I autolooted the items out of the cache, leaving only the Seething Cinder’s and Eternal Embers in the cache.
I moved off of the box and the cache had immediately disappeared without me looting the quest items.
Is it possible to have these items restored? It delays all of the raids Dragonwrath staves by a week because of this bug.
Sounds like a bug, You will want to move this to the bug report forums. I do not think a gm can restore quest items and I know they do not get mailed to you. Best turn off auto loot and pick up quest items first.
No, I’m afraid not, Classicmega. We’re generally unable to award someone with an item they may have received if looted. The Postmaster unfortunately does not mail quest items.
I’d agree with Vorsol that this should be reported as a bug so our QA team can look into it.
Also make sure to turn auto loot off and loot the quest items first next time. This way if the bug hits again you will not loose out again.
