I sent my daughter the link for RAF. She clicked on the link from her email and made a new account. She purchased one month of game time. I have her on my friends list and she has me on hers.
We can’t not summon each other. There is nobody in my list of RAF in game.
She sent in a ticket and we got back a really odd response (see below) “Thank you for contacting us about Recruit a Friend you have. I had a look at your account and I cannot see your mother a friend on your list! This could be due to the link. If the link is not working please ensure you and your friend closed World of Warcraft completely after linking. This may be required for the link to become active.”
We have tried this. We have tried many things. Wanted to do a whole year so I could get the RAF rewards but it is looking like that will not happen.
Why is it so difficult to get this to work? Do you want new/returning players? It is beyond frustrating that something that should be so simple does not function properly. Is there anyone who can actually fix this?
Yes. Over three years ago. However so we would not have to deal with any issues that might come from that she created a brand new account.
I have done RAF several times. Never had an issue. Just can’t figure it out and don’t want to keep spending money if it is not going to work.
Right, that’s why we’re here asking questions, to help get to the bottom of things. We only know as much information as you present in your posts, after all.
Is she making sure she’s logging into the correct license? Have you verified in your client that your licenses are properly connected in the Social pane (as that confirmation will not show up on her end)?
This would definitely be a first if they are solidly connected and she’s logging into the recruited license. I would wonder if it might take a little time for the connection to “settle in,” so to speak. Countless people have had no problem getting their licenses connected.
Thought I was clear in the original post when I said she followed the link and made a new account. If I wasn’t then I apologize.
She only has one license on her new account and that is one she is logging into.
Wish I knew what was wrong.
I have been to the link you posted and still not working. Did that yesterday and twice today.
To verify that two accounts are correctly linked:
Log both accounts out of World of Warcraft and back in
Have the recruiter open the social window (default hotkey O)
Click on the Recruit A Friend tab
Verify that the recruit is found on the list of linked accounts
Note : Recruits do not have an in-game display for their connection with a recruiter.
If two accounts are not linked, the most likely reason is that the recruit’s WoW account doesn’t qualify for the Recruit A Friend program. Only accounts that were created within the last 7 days, or that has not had active game time for 24 months or more are eligible to be recruited. Accounts created more than 7 days ago are not eligible, even if they have not previously been played on. There are additional limitations to some links based on legal restrictions in some countries. For instance, players in Brazil or Argentina can only recruit people in their own country, and players who use Rubles can only recruit or be recruited by other players who use Rubles as their assigned currency.
Account was made two days ago. Brand new. I came to the forums as a last resort. I link I sent her was correct. When she clicked on it the page said: V**** L wants you to play World of Warcraft etc… She then clicked on the link there to make her new account. Brand new email too.
Like I said done this many times before. But this is a mystery to me as to why it is not working. If you can think of anything else I might try I would be happy to try it.
But accounts can have up to eight WoW licenses attached.
I ran into this mistake myself, and it’s easy to make. I RAF’d a brand new account, that had multiple licenses attached. I then tried to access the RAF features from an incorrect license.
I messed up so bad I had to ask Customer Service to refund a bunch of game time I had applied to the wrong license. (And much thanks, they were awesome!)
Are you absolutely, positively sure that both you and your daughter are logged in to the specific licenses that SENT and RECEIVED the RAF links?
Not the accounts. The specific licenses (WOW1, WOW2, etc.) accessible from the drop-down menu in the launcher above the PLAY button. For example, assuming you aren’t personally hopping between accounts, if your daughter received and activated the RAF link on WOW2, but then for some reason switched to WOW3 and tried to play with you – no RAF link would exist.
Beyond that, I think someone might need to look under the hood real quick.
There is ONLY one license on that brand new account
I sent her the invite from the ONLY account I use (Shadowlands)
I have done at least five RAF’s before. I know and understand how they work. This is why it is so frustrating.
UPDATE: Logged on today and low and behold I can see her. Don’t know why it took days but at least it is working now.
I’ve had this bug earlier. Logging with my already linked account made my other account invisible to recruiter account. Now week later they see each other.
ALso I can’t get any other accounts of mine to be able to be recruitees for recruiter account as usual anymore link says “ineligible” no matter if I use my main blizzard account or register brand new.
This is weird, but I think it’s cause it’s the time before new expansion so everything will be weird till half of the year after its release.
