Racials need to be the fourth pvp talent. Legendarys also need to be turned off in pvp, and all legendary effects be moved to a fifth pvp talent. GG game 350% better at that point. You could then stop worrying about triple undead teams as warlock/priest/war, and expect it everytime. WoF could then be rebalanced to not be such a lock/priest/war counter.
I like the uniqueness racials offer. But with the current version of the game harboring some insane racial effects, it’s hard to pick a race you just enjoy because you get the short end of the stick for doing so. Maybe they should disable racials in rated PvP alone and that might just fix it all.
I’m totaly cool with just turning it off too. I just feel like counter-pick choices should always be available. Oh, new meta? Dh/dk/resto sham smackin your bum? Got a lego/racial that might help out? Oh just gotta race change and farm choreghast for weeks until I can even “test it out”.
Turning off every sort of variable would just cause the game to be boring and stagnant even more so than it already is IE see legion PvP.
The issue isnt the effects from racials and legendaries or covenants or anything like that.
The issue is there is literally no developer at blizzard to manage class balance full time let alone PvP class balance specifically. Stop just being complacent that blizzard cant do better and hold them to higher standards.
You literally didn’t even read the post you quoted lol. Racials would just be available to every race, and all lego effects would be available to you at all times regardless of what you farmed. If anything, I’m giving you more choices. L2read please.
You are asking to remove racial variability by having them as “talents” the same with legendaries. We already did this song and dance in legion with stuff like trinket effects. It was boring.
Says you. It’s all variable choices, called counter picking, the whole reason why we were given the new talent system in cata. Current racials are insane strong, but are only useful for counter picking. Gnomes counter roots and slow, undead counter priest/lock/war teams. Etc etc. If this was made a choice, people would complain enough that every team has WoF versus fears, and WoF would then have to be rebalanced. With the current version, you just randomly get unlucky by playing a lock into 3 undead. Perhaps that high rated team knows locks counters their comp so they all ran WoF. It’s not really fair/esport play when you have rediculous power in racials. They could be rebalanced and given as a choice to everyone as another engaging mechanic. Or just remove them for the boring version of a fix.
At the end of the day, there should be absolutely no reason you should even feel slightly inclined to be a giant green booger as a rogue just for the 20% stun reduction and the zug zug blood fury.
Hard disagree. I would rather other races have stronger effects honestly. Just having them as talents that everyone can pick would leave x amount rendered useless and never taken.
Look at the kultiran racial. Its effectively useless in arena outside of maybe blades edge, but its FUN in wpvp and rbgs/bgs. I’ve won games by sitting in stealth and haymaking people off the edge who run the flag horde side near the abyss river. I like using it when its applicable.
If it was a talent competiting against stuff like WoF, EMFH, stoneform, etc, I would never ever pick it. And if you use that as your benchmark for “balance” the end result is WoF/EMFH/ every other meta racial becomes a boring unfun filler move when it gets nerfed.
Id rather every race have something on the level of WoF and stoneform.
Good, trying to turn WoW into an esport is how we get tons of garbage decisions of the GCD fiasco.
Lol I lose so many games to orc passive stun reduction and night elf shadowmeld. Radials are so massive which is why I switched my rogue from undead which is likely the third best race of rogue (human and undead tied) to orc to do damage with bloodfury burst and have higher survivability on stuns.
Night elf is by far the most broken of the racials with rogue conduit allowing free restealths and access to master assassin without vanishing.
