Like I pointed out above, if they make it expensive, people will still be giving them money via tokens.

That was kind of what I had already thought about up there ^ somewhere. It is the only thing that makes sense.
I don’t think so, but it would allow people to play…say an undead without bad models. Corpse eating Orcs could be a new trend.

Yeah I mentioned the same thing above.
If it’s made “free” in game for a multi thousand gold sink they will make money from moving tokens. Possibly more than they would if it were only in the game store.

i know this is a joking thing but i am thinking they might do a race change. and keep faction change as a shop item. if it do happen

what about the Gleeful Glamour consumable made by enchanters?
everyone can already appear like a different race whenever they choose.
not to mention, the atomic recalibrator (which has existed since launch of dragonflight)
Blizzard implementing this change just allows people to freely change race without having to buy a consumable or purchase a toy in game (because the toy and consumable already allow it)

I think the only way race/faction change would be free is if Blizzard is using it for a reputation boost with the player base. Given the recent history of the company, I highly doubt it. I could see them putting it into the game as a heavy gold sink which would also drive token sales but, again, I doubt they’d be willing to give up the revenue stream. I’d say the most likely theories are either a) advert for cash service or b) they’re making it so you can pay for the services in real time instead of on the character select screen.
What’s the difference between that and just using gold to build up a bnet balance to buy a race change?
It seems that they will start charging, again, for BShop. Otherwisw lost revenue would be a concern. I go get a redo so rarely, that it would not really impact me. I do have at least 2 alts that could use a race change. I really like drakthyr, for one thing.
Personally, i wish they would lower the price of mogging by half.
Well technically they said dance studio how long ago and still there are some(not me) that are waiting for that and still hasn’t come to light.
I think it’s just a meme like the one for Winter Veil that made us all think it was an actual sleigh mount coming when it was just a new port over to fight.

To build up bnet balance, you have to buy tokens.
These are temporary effects to be used for fun, not something that lasts indefinitely like an actual race change. One has greater consequences than the other, as it should be.
I don’t know why I’m arguing this. After 20 years of this one thing being consistent, Blizzard letting you roll a race that you like for its racials, then immediately go to the barber and change its appearance to a race that you like for its looks without sacrificing anything, is about as likely as GD’s other frequent suggestion to put racials in a pool that you can pick and choose from; as in, not likely at all.
Gleeful glamour can be purchased in mass quantities and used as many times as you want.
If someone were so inclined, they could just have a friend put down a new atomic recalibrator for them 60 minutes later (there is no cool-down for you to change your appearance, the cool-down is only for the toy)
People can already use the atomic recalibrator to permanently look like another race, it is simply just inconvenient to do so (which is why it appears as though blizzard is allowing us to change our race’s appearance in the barber shop)
You can actually change your races appearance right now for money or with gold via wow tokens.

That’ll be neat if thats whats going on. I can’t imagine they get a lot of character race and faction changes these days when its so easy to level now.
Should be random, in both race and faction, like a slot machine with a 30d cd.
