I kind of suspect this is less “race and faction changes are now free” and more “you can preview your race change with your actual character and in their actual gear then buy it while in-game”.
But if I’m wrong, cool.
And the former isn’t even that good if it still does the typical barber shop thing of hiding half your transmog to fit the barber theme.
something like this would probably give tww a booster shot. there hasn’t been much to be excited for aside from progging the next tier and banging out ksh with my guild/friends in season 2
I feel like if people are expecting more than progging the next season of content that they’re maybe expecting too much? Like that’s the meat and potatoes of the game. Are people expecting massive design philosophy changes with actionable results in the form of radically different core content being dropped within the timespan of 1 patch or something?
more class unlocks would be exciting (even if it were just shaman and paladin) and the fact that they just up and canned rexxar (or whoever was supposed to be the s2 delve companion) because of how much trouble it was for them to get brann to where they wanted him so that was kind of deflating. the new drive thing being little more than a special zone ability rather than something special for ground mounts in general also was pretty underwhelming. lots of people are dooming (and rightfully so) over the next season’s m+ pool because ion wants to punish m+ players for not raiding
Why vague posting about possible changes is bad, now if it isn’t a faction change in there it’ll backfire.
I like those glamour/atomic recalibrator just sucks you can’t customize your character looks for them.
Attempting to re-brand something that was as iconic and ubiquitous as twitter has to be one of the dumbest business moves of all time.
So basically, everyone potentially wins. I’m all for applying some pressure as needed.
It wasn’t a serious post, it was them copying a meme for the lols. You know a crap or joke post… don’t think everything they post is truth. Unless they release patch notes backing it up it’s probably a joke post

Despite what Tovi said earlier, I still doubt this lol. I don’t think they’re moving it to the barbershop even though they should.
The race change I could potentially see, though I would expect there to be an additional gold cost involved or some other hoops for us to jump through. I legit don’t see the faction change being added to barbershop. They could stand to lower the cost of both of these things either way. FF XIV charges $10 a pop for a race change. That would be preferable.
Only if they allow it in faction capitals. Walk in as an Orc and come out a gnome. In Ogrimmar.

I suspect they would think that we are mature enough to understand that it is indeed a joke.
Guys I have done some reconnaissance - I travelled to the fated and ill-conceived land of “TikTok” so you don’t have to.
I think this may just be a trend on the “TikTok”, and the marketing team did not intend any implications for future gameplay or content updates.
But for future reference, they should probably consider that when making these types of videos. But hey, this is how the community interpreted it…don’t let your memes be dreams folks 
People thought the winter veil vid meant that we were getting a sleigh+reindeer mount, regardless of how obviously unworkable and janky that would be.
