Guys, I honestly don’t understand Blizzard developers anymore. For years, players have been asking for new customization options — hairstyles, accessories, face variations, and so on — and Blizzard keeps ignoring it.
Players ask for glyphs to disable the dark form for Shadow Priests, or to turn off the glowing eyes for Oracles (and I’m only speaking for the Priest class here, because that’s all I play) — and Blizzard still ignores it.
But hey, we constantly get 100500 recolors of skirts and boots. Seriously?!
It feels like the devs are completely disconnected from the community — like they don’t read the forums and don’t even play their own game.
Why spend time, money, and effort creating strange, uninspired races that 0.1% of players will actually choose?
Please focus on EXISTING races and classes. Add new hairstyles (or at least make existing ones and hair colors available across all races).
Create new cosmetic glyphs — players have been asking for them for years — to bring more personality and variety into the game.
I really hope you’ll support me in these requests.
Keep in mind that when a few hundred people ask for something in the forums, ten times each, you see the few thousand notes and think “That’s a lot of people”.
However regardless if you think the player population is a few hundred thousand or a few million, people asking for any given feature in the forums are still a very small percentage of the player base.
What they are watching is how many people go into the barbershop to play with hair styles and how many people are playing shadow priest. Then they make their decision on what to do next based on the potential increase in revenue.
Ive been asking for this just as much as i have been asking for
Though i dont see them glyphing out hero talent abilities and they have the shadowform dampening glyph, but i get your point.
We have been asking for a lot of customization and we have gotten a lot since bfa. And different people want different things; for example i dont care about adding new hair styles. Every race has one i like and that fits so i dont really care about more.
Seeing more hair styles to me, would be like seeing more skirts to you.
That said, glyphs really need a major update and expansion. We havent had a new glyph in ages and there are so many things they could do.
Demon hunters choosing their demon form
Different color fire for mages
Skeletom minions for warlocks
The priest stuff you mentioned
Remember, they see actual numbers of visits to the barbershop and number of people playing void elves. Or at least they can if they want to. We only see forum notes on any particular issue which are a very small percentage of the player base.
100% class design matters. The gameplay is the only thing that matters, the cosmetic stuff is cool but it doesn’t matter if the class design is not fun and engaging.
A few class glyphs per trading post would be really neat! though it’d take 13 of those to make up for one single choice that every single class has access to atm, so I understand the - for lack of better word - laziness from the devs when it comes to them.
Players have voted with their feet and wallets and consistently choose elves over other options. Hopefully in Midnight Blizzard unleashes the elven customization renaissance that a plurality of players would make frequent use of
Yes, I’m looking forward to Midnight, I hope there will be High Elves in the Alliance (I know this has been hotly debated on the forum for a long time)
Visuals are important to many players, what’s wrong with that?
When transmogrification was added - it generated a huge amount of interest and is now an important part of the game.
Now we need to improve the visuals of races and classes.
