Race and Class Design - Matters!

I mean, yeah it feels like that quite often. Its why we don’t have 10 million subs anymore. :joy:

I’d rather they add more options like those you mentioned to the barber shop. But if not that then yes, add more glyphs for stuff like that.

Glyphs are such an underused system. Adding glyphs to various old content, add them to inscription that can be sold on the AH, add them to new content renown and loot and such, etc would open up a whole new reason to do all that content.

I’ll tell you something I ran the Firelands raid over and over and over again to get that Druid seedpouch to turn into a fire kitty. People absolutely will get out there and collect these glyphs, just like they do mounts, pets, and transmog now.

I get that with housing coming that too will add more stuff to the old world, but I really hope we do see more glyphs added.

And if the problem is not being able to recognize spells in PvP, well, make it an option in the menu to show only default spell effects from enemy players then? That way if it’s too confusing for some people in PvP they can just turn off glyphs for enemy players.
And let’s face it, with all the spell effects that are already flying around and all the toys allowed in unrated PvP there’s bigger problems with visual clutter than just changing the color of someone’s fire or the appearance of their chain lightning spell.
It really would not be a big deal for PvP honestly.

Oh, you mean aesthetics. Thought you meant real design like abilities, etc.

A huge part of the novelty wow offered to a mainstream audience was creating your own character and playing with it in the world with others. Acting like players haven’t always been obsessed with their character’s appearance is just make believe. It’s also why blood elves essentially immediately became the most popular horde race when they were introduced. Item level is temporary but transmog is really the only thing you take from one expansion to the next

I remember reading somewhere that the reason why they can’t just add a color slider for your hair color or add armor dyes is because WoW’s engine does not support it. So I can imagine that adding new hair colors is probably not as straight forward as just plopping another hex value into a table and calling it good.

And straight backs for Worgen males!

The peak of WoW had no barbershop feature, no transmog feature, and minimal customization.

Even with new races, classes, and customizations added to the game, subs continued to fall until classic was released.

Blizzard doesn’t like customization unless they can monetize it. That’s why Allied Races exist, so they could monetize that extra customization.

Exactly. People used to shell out $10 for a new haircut

I would go to the barbershop more often if they gave us more customization options.

I would like that too. At the very least I’d like to see the Void Elves have all the Blood Elf hair options.

I hope the high elves just inexplicably keel over dead. And nobody cares as they step over their bodies and continue on with the actual story.

It’s actually more insipid then that: It’s a HELF thread.

I’d like the opposite. I would love it if I could give my Blood Elf some of the Void Elf (and if possible, the Dracthyr visage) options.

Been waiting on a Balance Druid Astral Form Glyph that resembles the Pandaria version more, or even better – one (or two, say blue or orange versions) that work like the Glyph of Shadow :dracthyr_a1:

I totally agree

It’s actually crazy to me that they haven’t done this yet. People love cosmetic options, and especially druids love their different forms. It’s such an easy win for Blizzard to add but they… Don’t.
