Quitters are just advertising FF14

is Eve online better than FF14? tell me the truth guys…i know nothing about either…

Final Fantasy copied WoW when they rebooted, and then proceeded to add features we’ve been asking for, and actually focuses on casual players rather than chasing esports.
It’s everything WoW could be if they actually cared about anything but instanced end game. (Minus some of the graphical capabilities.)

I’ve been massively enjoying my time in that game, and if I keep getting burnt out, I’m probably making the switch. Almost did but my BG friends dragged me back.

People say they’ve leaving for it and are praying that WoW smartens up and becomes innovative again. And by innovative, actually keeping up with the genre and giving it basic features other games have had since before 2004.
Not everybody’s interested in doing the exact same instances over and over in an RPG. We need world content and RPG customization, but na. Esports.

if they were smart - they’d create another MMO universe so they don’t lose subs to another game’s MMO.

Diablo and Starcraft are both ripe for their own MMO…I think blizz would rather see players shift between their own games than leave for other studios…

i mean they did it with classic and retail, why not…

They do have PvP, but as someone who’s played it, its VERY different from WoW and anyone who has gotten accustom to WoW PvP probably wouldn’t enjoy it.

That’s because of boredom. WoW doesn’t have content out right now and they need something to occupy their entertainment. FFXIV flexing is something normal on these forums.

This is the only thing holding me back, honestly.
I like to grind BGs and do wPvP. The system in FF just doesn’t really cut it for me, but literally everything else about that game just feels like… what WoW should be.

Well, when the content is recycled, from using the same systems, it’s not really new. Fresh coat of paint, same old tired systems.

My sub expires at the end of Feb and I’m not leaving for FF14…

I’ve been getting back into other games like Stardew Valley, Apex, even giving Wolcen another shot and it’s not bad. A definite improvement from launch. I actually just purchased Valheim given the reviews on Steam and from friends so I have plenty of games that are actually fun for me.

Unfortunately WoW hasn’t been fun for a while and I can’t justify paying $21/month (CAD) on a game that I’m not enjoying =(

That’s the meme, FF is so garbage lmao. Even if it was F2P I still wouldn’t bother.

If it was so garbage, why has it gotten to the point where it rivals WoW now?

NO. BIG NO. Eve Online and FFXIV are 2 different types of games.

Eve Online: A high-light type game top-down game where you select units/travel systems, make a fleet of ships and play with others or fight others in space. This is not like WoW or FFXIV or MMO in general. It is also forced PVP and the “entry” area is always camped by experienced players so getting out is near impossible…yeah they allow camping.

FFXIV: Basically an MMORPG with FF elements but better and balance casual/high end content fairly and equally.

Right? I wish I could get past the corny anime-style of FFXIV, I would play the hell out of that game. It looks much more like a second life MMORPG than WoW.

gotcha…ok i was wondering why i never saw anyone like interacting outside their ships in Eve online. looked really complex too.

Final fantasy does look a little more “fluid” with graphics…I guess it’s an engine thing…I can’t wait til wow has me look less “stiff” when I’m riding a horse (Breath of the Wild style) someday…That’s one thing I think is good about final fantasy.

Ff14 is basically MMO on training wheels lmao, its pretty much made for the LFR demographic in wow.

Which is the vast majority of people who play MMORPGs.

Not really, our mythic raiders here on WoW would 100% rage quit ultimate raids on FFXIV. It does not hold your hand like you’ve probably been told. Failing mechanics in dungeons is death there, but harsh dark souls death, but a stacking debuff that increases your damage taken style death. It punishes you until you learn mechanics, which makes it really fun!

I tried Final Fantasy XIV and, personally, I think it Sucks On Ice. So they can have it, lol.

That said, there’s no accounting for taste. For those who enjoy the game, I wish them all the best with their play time there.

I call doubts on that one when everything has 2 secs GCD + mechanics are mostly repetition on intervals with ez as f rotations

I mean you’re welcome to try it then, if you think it so easy.

Wrong, when you get mid-level and up you get a lot of skills that are not on the GCD and the gameplay combat speed gets way faster. You’ve clearly not played it to high lvl to judge anything about it. I have multiple lvl 80 classes(main dancer) and I’ve seen all I’m talking about. You save these no-GCD skills to throw in between GCD downtime and it events out perfectly.

Point proven…you didn’t get a high lvl to judge the game properly or see off-GCD skills and rotations.
