A certain minority of people are eagerly waiting for the day WoW dies and for some other game to kill it.
Itâs been a common practice over the years to compare and bet on which game that will be, thereâs been a lot of contenders. FF is just front runner lately. The doomsayers get stronger when WoW goes through rougher times, like a delayed first patch. And they use that as ammo to hype up the competitor games while attacking WoW.
So what? he played the game apparently but their fans and players expected him to fully go deep into the game and now heâs getting chewed alive because he decided to do other things and drop the game anyway because he couldnt feel connected with it?
What happened I think it wasâŚ
his fans expected something which is never a good idea everâŚ
fans also expected to throw the game flowers like pretty much everyone else while keep playingâŚ
Attacking the guy for simply not liking the game despite trying the game on his own phase terms is so basic of twitch mentality anywayâŚ
Theyâre trying to point out to the devs that there is competition, so they need to step up or the players will step out. So far it seems ineffectual.
Just like the internet movie data base, I enjoy reading other peopleâs thoughts on movies and TV shows I am interested in. However, I watch a show or movie without taking into account of the rating or comments about a movie or TV show. Iâm my own person, I can draw my own conclusions.
Itâs different for streamers. They follow the hype trains because that could potentially lead to more subscribers for them and more money, it makes sense from that point of view.
People should try something out on their own interest levels, not what someone else hypes it up to be.
I donât like FFXIV, I canât get past the clunky, boring combat system. Itâs a complete and utter deal breaker for me. The questing and combat is just so mundane. Sure, WoWâs quests are boring, but I love their combat system tenfold.
FFXIV isnât for me, tried it 4 separate times, I donât get the hype either, but thatâs my taste.
The issue came from his viewers knew right away he wasnât doing this to have fun but to just gain more viewers due to the hype train, if there was anything to learn bout the game or hear from people he just made fun of them for playing the game. before he played it himself
The issue comes from he played it for simply baiting in more views, if youâre gonna give it a shot, give it a shot, but when people realize youâre just doing it for hype bait, you come off as a douche.
Not to mention, this guy goes out of his way to kill low level quest NPCâs in WOW and encourages his viewers to do it as well to screw with people., not sure you know who youâre defending exactlyâŚ
Itâs an MMO. This hype will die FAST if story is the only appeal. MMOs need longevity outside of 3 hours per patch.
Not saying FFXIV doesnât have that, just saying story alone isnât going to keep people subbed over there. If thatâs why people are playing, this is a temporary thing.
Most people at end-game enjoy the valor/JP currency grinds. Along with a legacy currency to get good gear on their alt classes. A simple system with simple means.
Twitch streamer following the hype train what a surprise⌠their own fault as fans and also the community of that game for expecting the guy anything in the first place the guy apparently is more of arpg games which is already telling you a big deal of what he likesâŚ
I will never understand the need of twitch hiveminds to magically generate a parasocial relationship with the streamer in general and control what the guy do and his choicesâŚ
Itâs bad sight to attack people for simply playing the game the way he wanted and still quit it⌠looks bad for a community that apparently âFFXIVâ praises so much about anyway.
Issue is he was shooting first, harassing healers/DPS, calling them and people doing this game âStupid weebs.â
If he said âItâs just not for meâ Itâd be fine, but since he went out of his way to go after the players, he shouldâve seen that coming. When his own mods told him to cut it off, you know you got an issue.
