Kunbo asked me to pass along that with Winter approaching he’s brought back hot pot soups. A recipe of his nana’s and one of the teahouse favorites from a couple years back.
TEA BONE SOUP
yellow tea leaves, sliced 100 year eggs, lemongrass, fish backbone broth
FOUR CELESTIALS SOUP
green (spinach flour) noodles, red bell pepper, black morels, white jasmine blossoms, vegetable broth
Teahouse today in about an hour and a half. Gramps behind the counter because Kunbo is home helping Ingheti cope with the impending arrival of their cub. no idea if it’s false labor, the beginning of contractions days ahead, or imminent.
Unfortunately rl has me down in the energy dumps. so teahouse is cancelled tonight.

Two (and a half) special treats at the teahouse tomorrow:
A special seasonal guest is expected to make an appearance.
A long-anticipated arrival happened Friday Dec. 16th. She will be introduced to the teahouse extended family for the first time this Sunday.
The half-treat? In honor of the auspicious occasion Kunbo will be preparing some dishes usually reserved for special occasions at home.

For anyone interested … We’re doing a little Quilen and Cloud Teahouse gathering today. In about 15 minutes or so we’ll be at the teahouse. any lonely traveler can expect a warm home-cooked meal.
and we will be open tomorrow as well, at the usual time.
About 4 PM today (perhaps a little earlier) the teahouse will be open today, with Kunbo cooking up anything (that he’s got ingredients for) by request.

Ming Ironstep of Red Wing Tavern will be our partner to keep the dumplings flowing. Come by & eat as many as you can.
