Decided to join my friends on wotlk, boosted to 70. Started the grind.
No herilooms, no rested XP.
Is it better to dungeon grind, AoE mob farm, or quest?
I’ve been questing and it feels incredibly slow. I feel like I should be leveling every 2 hours but it’s taking around twice that. I would assume it might have to do with gear, lack of flying, etc.
Not even a little bit. Assuming no rested, flight, or heirlooms an average player should expect around ~3 hours per level, maybe even 4. It’s pretty slow going initially, but fair to note 77 to 80 goes a lot faster with flying and quest density in the later areas.
If I were you I’d try to get around 77 before JJ goes away and you’ll then be in a good position to finish it off.
I remember hopping on my alt after I got to 80, and it felt like a real grind! Pretty sure solo questing is the fastest, if you’re going fast. I leveled with a friend who was using RestedXP, and it was pretty quick.
That’s mainly become the new goal. 72 right now. Hoping to hit 77+ before the buff goes away so I can hit 80 and get a carry (friend’s guild) through Naxx before reset to get some initial gear.
Aff is poop for dungeons, stuff dies too quickly to matter. You really want a Demo offspec for any dungeons you do get into. If you don’t have the cash to drop on that then just do the dungeon once for the quest and move on. Your AoE is still good if your group is mass pulling, but if it’s just a pug group who knows what you’re going to get.
But Aff is S tier for questing in open world with all that self healing. You should have little to no downtime.
Except travelling. I think 90% of my time wasted is mounted going from one place to another, thus why I figured I’d ask if dungeoning/mob grinding might be faster.
