Quick quetion about parental controls and subs

I just removed the parental controls from my sons account and went to activate it with a sub but I either keep getting the account cannot do that or an error it didn’t go through, How long will it take for me to be able to get him a sub so he can stop pestering me lol.

I was not aware controls prevented subscriptions or setting one up, just access to the other shop purchases.

Are you getting an actual error message? If so can you update the thread with the exact wording? Sometimes that can help clue into what might be causing the problem.

Is what it’s saying now. I’ve checked my bank and my card (I actually just ordered groceries with it lol) and everythings in order there.

Is that the account that uses an @outlook address or @yahoo?

Are you still having trouble? I think it’s the @outlook one, because I see some updates to it. You technically have controls still on the account, you just enabled a lot of the normal social options. Controls should usually only prevent store/shop purchases, but I can double check if you are still having an issue.

It is the outlook account yes =) and It’s still not letting me sub to it

Just to confirm, this has only been a starter license? It doesn’t look like it has had game time before, but with multiple licenses I like to make sure.

Only if he wishes to play War Within, it only needs game time to play everything else up through the Dragonflight expansion. I’ll take a look to see if there are any issues that I can see.

We were having some issues with disconnections, I don’t think it would impact adding a subscription, but it is possible. I’ll update the thread as soon as I can.

I’m not seeing anything that indicates the account shouldn’t be able to add a subscription. There are no notes that indicate that a purchase attempt failed. That usually indicates that the attempt is being stopped by the bank/financial institute.

I don’t know if that is what is happening, but it isn’t rare. Is the card you are using the same one you use for your other account? Can you try setting up a method of payment for the account temporarily to make the purchase, then remove it after?

Alternately, you may be able to gift a block of game time to the account through the shop on your account. Just be sure to select the gift option if you do so.

It’s alright =), and it is the same card I use for my main account. I tried setting up a payment method but it gave the same error. I’ll try gifting it to him and see if that works =)

You might want to double check all your address information, and phone information and make sure thats correct, if you fat fingered something that could potentially cause this kind of issue.

I was able to gift him the game time, and I’ll double check the address when I try to add it as a payment method again, but I’m fairly certain I entered it correctly =)

Ya a bit of a long shot, but easy to put the wrong zip in or attach the wrong country, and not notice it.
