Queue times

Lets be real - at the end of the day, wow PvP is designed to be a competitive game mode. You’ve already reduced it to 8v8, changed how the bgs work to encourage faster games, implemented measures to make healers more likely to queue, etc. But lets be deadly honest. Why would I wait 15-30 mins on average (sometimes up to an hour at higher ratings) for ONE (1) game when I could play something like Marvel rivals which isn’t far off on a 6v6 or even Overwatch which is about to be 6v6 again WITH role queue which is similar to wow with a average queue time of 2-5 minutes. What I mean to say with all this, is if you cannot get the average queue time down to at most 5 minutes with a slightly higher time at low player times, you might as well consider blitz, solo shuffle, etc a MASSIVE failure. At this point, there needs to be something done to hasten the rate at which the game finds 16 players (4 healers 12 dps) The healer shortage cannot be the ONLY contributor. If healing is this unfun in the game, you need to rework the fun aspect of healers rather than trying to give some ‘thanks for playing what you don’t want to’ item. I don’t mean just make healers also do damage either… I know that’s your go to idea for making healers ‘Fun’. I don’t care if you even do something as minor to start as making trinketing make you immune to the same CC school for 1.5 seconds or something. Why is a DPS fun? Big chunky damage burst windows. That’s pretty much it. Same thing for a healer in the inverse. Big heals to save your life when crap hits the fan. The ability to stop damage from happening in the first place by using some cooldown to negate damage either for yourself or your team. Your dev team has done this for years. You have players with more hours in this game than any professional in any job could that are willing to assist you in making changes that make the game fun. Is it gonna take another MMO to overtake you in PvP for you to care? We gonna see another overwatch vs marvel rivals where you don’t do anything till a competitor appears and then stumble over yourself to make changes? I know this has become a rant at this point but seriously, the overall point is still there - Why do you wanna queue for 15-30 mins when you could just go play something else and get 5 min queues. You have limited time as a player and blizzard is NOT respecting our time.

I don’t play those games

I play this one

Would I like faster Q? Of course

But that’s a function of how many others are playing, and IMO the limiting factor is barrier to entry for alts and in particular, new players

Make gearing more trivial

I’d ask, how much time to get from creating a new toon to getting into a PvP match, in those other games?

Here I have to level through PvE then acquire PvP gear in unrated hell just to be able to Q for PvP at all

It’s barrier to entry

This can be solved by simply making 15k honor per season allow all honor gear across your account to be free not disenchantable, and have no sell value with conquest points counting across all characters each season. 1 pnt earned = 1 pnt on every other character one your account. PvP should never be about gear being a barrier to entry. Using it as an excuse for PvP failing is a crutch. PvE is about gear and progression. PvP is about climbing an MMR/Ladder system. Additionally, I’m not saying YOU play those games. I’m saying as a company competing against these games, this should be their number one motivator.

WoW is a MMORPG. Gearing is part of the game.

Inncorrect. wow is an MMORPG with PvP Which is also a MOBA (Multi-online-battle arena) which does NOT involve gearing.

Well sorry man. Gearing is part of the game.

That seems a lot more complicated than making all gear and 1h 500cp and 2h 1000, then boosting rewards by 20ish%

If I could opt out of playing with or against a short list of realms I’d except that my queue times would lengthen, and a dps that didn’t black list realms might have a shorter queue time as they could take what was my spot. Queue times are the least of my worries. What I want is a quality match once I get in one.

If you know about the warcrate farm, the barrier becomes much shorter, so short, you can walk over without lifting your knees much.

It’s a soulless and boring endeavor that we shouldn’t have to do. This is just another reason why I believe not a single person working on pvp has a clue what players actually want to experience.

This also explains the long queue times, lack of forum interaction, etc. there’s just not many people that trust them to deliver anything more than trash for their monthly sub cost.

No one has to do it, it’s completely optional team based world pvp that may or may not provide pvp. The best part is it’s over quickly. I didn’t play most days that this season has been live but ill be gear capped in a half hour more of clicking crates.

Done, I’ll spend the conquest tomorrow. Sleepy time now.

I would rather wait an hour to get put into an insta loss blitz game than play a single game of marvel rivals.

As I said before, I’m not gonna go do other content which holds no interest to me, to gear for content I want to do, when I can gear for the content I want to do, in the content I want to do.

And if gearing is already trivially fast through this method, as you claim, what reason remains to not let the content itself gear players trivially fast as well?

Why not?

Honestly I havent had any issues with queue times until recently.

Until this last patch it was usually about 10-15 mins sometimes 20. Last couple days I have been been sitting for 40-50 mins. Earlier today I forgot I was in queue… went outside & was gone almost hour and half & it still kept me online.

No reason at all (to not gear faster with instanced pvp with changes to match war crates). If you won every random BG and got the same conquest currency with the same time investment as crates, considering dps queue times, you would need 360 per win. Or, if considering queue times and a 50% win rate, you would need about 700+ conquest per win in a battleground. I’m not arguing for battlegrounds to be the worst option for gearing at all, just that currently crates are astronomically faster.

I would be concerned that increases in conquest earned from what they are now, to 300+ - 700+ for EBGs and random BG wins may further motivate queue syncing community’s to queue sync a whole lot more. Maybe instead of noticing that 1 of 2 battlegrounds has your enemies all being from the same region it becomes all games.

If you have to press “,” on random occasions. Nobody reads a wall

The wall of text is a deterrent for morons who have an attention span of 5 seconds. You have no place in the discussion if you cannot keep pace.

What is happening in EBG is probably not related too much to conquest rewards. It’s clearly a problem, but that fix lies elsewhere, not in conquest acquisition rates

I honestly think the best place to start is by dropping conq prices at the vendor. 500cp for anything but 2h at 1k.

Simplify and streamline PvP gearing to near triviality so we can focus on fights not outfits
