Queue Time Predictions

The Wrath of the Lich King is nearly upon us…

What are your expectations on release day and in the first week? Grobbulus queues disappeared after two weeks of prepatch and haven’t been seen since. However…

According to IFpro, there are at least 20,000 active players on the server, Benediction at 32k and Farelina at 28k. How many people are going to come back for the most anticipated part of classic and how long will you watch your position in queue go down while estimated time goes up?

If I was a betting man, I would say there will be 80s on those servers before a chunk of players ever get to even log in to play wrath.

There will be players that sit in queue all night and never get on that day since they will need sleep for work etc.

300 minutes min.

I’ll bet 300 gold on it!

Back before Grobb’s server locked, the queues peaked at 14-19k (14k is what I personally saw, 19k is what I heard about secondhand)

But with Grobb still server locked and free transfers still available, I expect queues will peak at 10k and no higher.

That’s my prediction, anyways. Because this isn’t prepatch, this is Northrend. If players are stuck in even a 5k queue when they could just xfer off to another server for free and be playing the new expansion immediately, they won’t sit and wait.

Bunch of folks are gonna server hop the moment the queues start tomorrow, and I would be VERY surprised if Grobb’s queues go too far above 10k, or even last beyond a week.

There’s only one way for the people to go now, and that’s out.

I expect queues to be about 4hrs on Skyfury but I wont be on till 3-4 hrs after wrath launches (so 8hrs with queue) by which time I will likely need to log off so I think day 1 is take ship, day 2 is leveling for me.
