I’ve answered this before and yet I continually see folks argue back and forth anyway. Usually people who feel supported by what I’ve said will use it as an “I win” for their argument, and those that don’t will find ways of dismissing anything I say anyway.
Is it against policy to queue at the same time as other people, using out of game methods to try to coordinate? Such as sitting in a voice chat channel like Discord to all hit join at the same time?
There is nothing in our policies that I’m aware of that would prohibit queuing at the same time as someone else. Even if there were, we’d have no way to verify what people are doing in Discord or any other chat program they may be using.
If they were using a third party program to facilitate it, that is another matter and our hacks team would work on blocking, breaking or otherwise detecting it, but “3, 2, 1… hit Join!”.. not so much.
Edit: Please keep in mind I do not speak for our Game Developers. If they are or not concerned about this practice isn’t something that I have information on or can comment on.
They are still interested in feedback that players have about their play experience. So discussing the matter is fine. Discussing what steps you’d like for our Developers to take to try to curb the behavior is great. “I don’t like it, it’s unfair, fix it” doesn’t really help.
We can often help clarify our policies, Idareya, but we’re not usually able to get into specifics, which is what a lot of folks are after. The EULA and Code of Conduct are sometimes intentionally vague in a lot of areas to cover a wide range of prohibited behaviors. Focusing on the spirit of the rules so we don’t get bogged down with a lot of rules lawyering.
