Questions about character transfer

Hi there, I’m not sure if this is where to post my questions about character transfers but here goes…

I have 8 characters I’m interested in transferring from Sisters of Elune to Stormrage.

My questions are:

1.). Is there a way to find out if my destination server (Stormrage) will accept 8 characters?

2.). How much gold can each character have on them when they transfer?

3.). How long does it take for the transfer to be complete?

4.). When does the “special” on character transfers end?

  1. Retail servers don’t “close” to transfers. Or at least they haven’t to date. So you could transfer 8 or 18, and it won’t make much of a difference. Now, Classic/SOD/Progressive Classic servers may be closed to transfers if there is too great an imbalance or whatever metric the Devs may go by.

  1. Most transfers go through fairly quickly, but they can take up to 24 hours.

  2. January 1st.

I have one more question that came up during preparation…

Do all the characters who are transferring TO the new server need to all be from the same OLD server?

For example:

I have 7 characters from server A, and only one character from server B ; however, I want all 8 of those characters to go to the new server. Is that ok?

You can transfer from different servers to the same server in retail. The only limit on characters per server is the same as characters per account.

In classic, you have the character limit per server.
