Will there be an 8.3 raid or are they done with BFA after 8.25? I don’t think it was announced either way but I may be wrong does anyone know.
They already did 3 raid tiers but last time they did 4.

8.2.5 is looking to be secretly large, with this war campaign. One of the devs tweeting out “The revolution will not be datamined!”
We know there are two cinematics coming with this war campaign, not just cinematics, some of the longest runtime cinematics we’ve ever gotten.
Something big is happening in the war campaign in 8.2.5. Either this is a premature end to the expansion, or its setting up the next raid.
We’re raiding Orgrimmar or Stormwind.
Hopefully Stormwind. Not because I particularly want to win the war, but because I hate the fact you can’t mount in Seige of Orgrimmar because it’s all underground.
They should add a special mount for that place, seriously, not even Temple of Ahn’qiraj is that big and has the Qiraji mounts.
There better be, or else I have no reason to keep playing retail after I kill Mythic Azshara in the next week or so
8.2.5 wraps up the war campaign, but 8.3 is going to wrap up the entire reason we’ve been pumping azerite into our blasted amulets for the whole expansion.
8.3’s raid is going to be connected to Silithus. Mark my words. We can’t leave that massive loose thread hanging.
I expect 8.3 to be about N’zoth. The reason is that at last Blizzcon when they announced 8.2, there was one slide on what comes after. It showed a dark fish that looks like the one from Azshara warbringer cinematic, which we now know represents N’zoth.
So I’m certain 8.3 is N’zoth, probably set in Ny’alotha or Shadowlands.
I have my heart set on fighting Anduin and stealing his horse. Raid boss Anduin is the only part of the Shadowbringe…erm, Shadowlands leak I liked.
What a shame it would be, though, to waste N’zoth on a .3 patch like they did Argus.
Furthermore, Blizzard said we’d know the final boss of BFA after defeating queen Azshara. The raid end cinematic shows N’zoth being freed, so it HAS to be N’zoth.
8.3 could still be about N’zoth, but his plans would have to be connected to Silithus. Not Ny’alotha. Not yet.
If 8.3 doesn’t definitively end with us healing the planet, then the azerite mechanic would have to be carried over into the next expansion. And I just don’t see that happening.
And if we end the expansion with us just “forgetting” to heal the planet and moving on to other Old God-related stuff, then what was it all for to begin with?
To be fair, Blizzard story tellers are notorious for forgetting about their own characters, settings and story lines and only(luckily) address them if it becomes relevant in the future. Often than not, they just let stuff to rot until they need X character or something.
Have you met Blizzards current writing team? I don’t think any of them have scissors.
God I hope not. The raids have been good but this entire expansion needs a bullet to the dome so we can move on. BFA was just filler for the real expansion, just like WoD was for Legion.
For sideplots this has sometimes been the case, but never for the foundational premise of the expansion.
Burning Crusade: Begin the expansion venturing into Outland to prevent a demon invasion, end the expansion by defeating two of the most notorious demon lords and, yes, stopping an invasion.
Wrath of the Lich King: Begin the expansion dealing with Arthas’s invasion of Azeroth, end the expansion defeating Arthas.
Catacylsm: Begin and end with deathwing.
Mists of Pandaria: Begin in a war started by Garrosh, end by defeating Garrosh.
Warlords of Draenor: Begin by fighting the Iron Horde, end by reforming the Iron Horde (yes, I am aware that was not the intended end of the expansion, but at the very least the Iron Horde as a political unit was not merely forgotten. They were transformed into the prelude for the Legion invasion)
Legion: Begin by fighting off another demon invasion, end by imprisoning the Legion’s commander.
Battle for Azeroth: Begin by fighting over the precious blood of a dying planet, end by…
We have to end by saving the planet, or at least dealing with the ramifications of our failure to do so. The fact that Azeroth is dying is something that is constantly referenced by Magni’s continued presence throughout the expansion, additional story developments including Brann, Mother, the Essences, and Ebonhorn, and plays a huge role in Baine’s ultimate defection from the Horde.
If the Azeroth plotline was a side-story the likes of Gilneas, I could see the argument that Blizzard could just forget about it. But it’s actually the narrative backbone of what happens in BFA. You can’t just toss that aside for narrative convenience.
You do realize you’re asking for less content at no additional charge in favor of more content locked behind a paywall that we’re just supposed to assume is good enough to buy, yeah?
We still have one Warbringer left to become a raid boss: Sylvanas.
I thought Gul’dan created the Death knights under Stormwind so it’s possible there’s enough space for the entire raid if we connect the Stockades and Tram system.
You can play Pokemon go for free, or you can pay 40 bucks to play Sun/Moon. Yes I do realize it. BFA is only marginally above WoD in terms of content, it’s what is generally referred to as a filler expansion. It’s designed to keep us busy while Blizzard’s main team works on the next expansion.
That aside, the pay wall is inevitable regardless of when it is implemented. You can pay 60 bucks for a new expansion sooner, or you can do it later, but you’re not playing that expansion for free. So I don’t know what point you think you’re trying to make.
If it is Siege of Stormwind, I hope we can raid the Tram.
The train will be the ultimate boss, just like the train operator,
Please let it be a stormwind raid, put us out of our misery. After the raid alliance accounts automatically end, like blizzard wants anyway.
That sounds dreadful but why do you think that?
