I am just curious, why don’t you just plant another World Tree somewhere, I mean Teldrassil popped out of nowhere, I mean seriously why are you planning on fighting war over Darkshore at the corpse of a dead world tree anyway, surely someone can just give you an acorn that you can just throw into the ocean somewhere and bang you got a new world tree…right?
You mean like the one in Broken Isles, or Mount Hyjal?
Why don’t we just build another World Trade Center? I don’t understand why people would get so outraged over a building. It’s not like we don’t have more iron, concrete, and glass.
well, with nordrassil restored, there’s not really much need for a new world tree
IDK if it’s just me or what. But, as a retired Navyman, I see war crimes in what Sylvanas did at the world tree. You don’t kill civilians for one, you definitely don’t kill children and call it war. For me, it’s not about if they can rebuild the world tree anywhere. The war is about seeing justice carried out against the war criminal Queen Ashara.
Sorry, I believe during Legion, Queen Ashara captured Queen Sylvanas and impersonated her for the later half of Legions.
Who else has anything to gain by getting the Horde and Alliance fighting with each other again (besides Blizzard I mean). We worked together to get rid of the Legion. That was the entire reason Khadgar went off when Sylvanas started this new war. Who, besides the Legion was fighting both Horde and Alliance during the entire expansion? The Naga, Queen Ashara. And we’ve already seen she’s adapt at impersonating people. She tricked Farondis into believing she was one of them and not a Naga. She changed her form to look like them. I believe that is the twist Blizzard hinted during one of those Q & A sessions. Things will become clear later on, Ion said.
If im correct World trees have to be blessed by the Dragon aspects, otherwise they get easily corrupted or something like that. And the Dragon aspects lost their powers in Cata so I don’t think its possible to safely grow a World tree anymore.
It is same like saying burn your current house and build a new one . The memories ,experience ,time ,feelings cannot be replicated .
They probably will. Or maybe not. It’s hard to say yet. They may not bother. It’s not like they have an actual need for one. Nordrassil was important because their link to it was what granted them their immortality. Teldrassil did not, because Fandral didn’t file the proper forms with the world tree planning commission before embarking on the project.
We need to plant more trees to reduce carbon emissions created by the Horde.
I.e. Goblin pollution and Tauren flatulence.
I don’t know if you knew it, but in real world one of the main factors that contribute to global warming, are the gases created by cows overpopulation, developed by stockbreeding.
So, actually will be dangerous if tauren poblation in Azeroth grew up at high levels.
good old fashioned plot armor
next fairy tale ?
NIGHTELVAN AGROGANCE
dumb
Not to bash but you bringing up a sensitive real life subject in a thread that discusses lore and a fantasy environment is not too fun. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have proper discourse about sensitive subjects - I’m saying there’s a time and place to talk about that kind of stuff. And on the World of Warcraft forum is probably not the best place to bring up tragedies of that scale that happen in actual real life.
But to speak on the World Trees, I think it requires more than the planting of an acorn. I can’t say this with absolute certainty - regardless I understand the point. Lets get some Night Elves (and many Druids) to see what we can do about reintroducing some world tree goodness to Azeroth. /moo
I’m simply trying to illustrate how and why watching a symbol of your society filled with innocent people being destroyed by an intentional act of evil may not be that easy to get over. Dismissing the emotional impact of this kind of event because it’s ‘just a game’ is to dismiss the entire story the writers of BfA are trying to tell. The basic reason the night elves don’t just plant another tree is because they were obviously traumatized by the attack. It’s just emotionally ignorant to not make that connection.
It’s like asking why the characters in Avengers: Infinity War were so upset at the end. After all, it’s not like they’re anything more than comic book creations. It’s not like watching a close friend disappear into dust is like watching a close friend die. It’s not like we should be able to empathize with these characters based on actual experiences in our own lives. Right? That would just be silly.
Agreed. I think it’s partially due to a seemingly sense of trolling that the OP posted in. It’s obvious that she’s brushing off the burning of innocent people and their world tree. Over what? Because Sylvanas traded some words with a dying night elf and she felt like she needed to be right and show that she can kill hope whenever she wants? I don’t buy it; there must be deeper reasons for this tragedy - Sylvanas is much more intelligent than this. But yeah, to underplay the emotional impact of this for people who do care and for people who are invested is pretty narrow-minded (if not done to merely troll and get a laugh regardless of the attempt).
Either way, I hope we see Sylvanas suffer for such a drastic move. She’s gone on way too long committing acts of pure violence and getting away with it. I understand she didn’t start out evil, she started out a valiant hero and protector of her people, then fell to the malevolence of the Lich King but it doesn’t excuse the face value of her latest decisions. Although I feel it never would happen I think most of the community at this point would very much enjoy slaying Sylvanas multiple times a week for funsies and fat loots. /clap
There’s already a world tree. It’s called Nordrassil. And it’s still growing back.
We don’t exactly have the Aspects to bless another tree, nor do we have much of the water from the Well of Eternity to grow another one, either.
But sure, we’ll just forget about a tree the size of a continent with its own ecosystem and large population getting burnt to the ground. Because hey! Elae says “just grow another!”
We’re going to fix the tree. We just need to hold someone accountable first.
Wow dude was talking about a wow thing, not real life stuff
I think you have the quote wrong. I didn’t say that lol /clap
Several reasons. 1. We are severely territorial and loathe any who invade out lands. 2. That world tree was an abomination against nature itself when it was first planted. 3. Many of the world trees, save a few, were planted against the knowledge of the druids.
So basically, Malfurion would probably just banish or shun anyone who did. All we can do is fight now.
