I main warlock, and every time I come across a DK I tend to lose that fight. The grip every time I get away is what does me in. Is this a normal experience for lock players or am I just bad?
DK counter most spell casters, that’s kind of the entire classes design.
Best bet is to set up all your tps and just keep on fearing. Pop Defensives when they grip you in with AMS on.
It’s hard.

Destro, but hellcaller so I don’t have to sit around and hard cast unless I have an opportunity to chaos bolt or proc soulfire

Yeah your best bet is to just try and CC em, and survive through AMS.
It can be tough. It sucks that they get to push a button that just turns off your entire spec.
I miss when AMS had a damage limit =/

Warlock will be tougher to 1v1 while vers is low,
Your grimoire will be weaker and you take more damage
Dk also is so oppressive and spams self heals
Death strike avoided the 33% nerf to “based onhp” self healing like Impending victory and exhilaration were nerfed.

You could consider playing more like a Tank since it’s in Warlocks design. Use the PvP gem with 5% dmg reduction when CCed. Use Stam/versa gems. Battlemaster trinket that gives HP on use.
