Classic WoW’s camera zoom-out seems to be noticeably smaller than in retail. Would I be able to manually increase the camera view using a /command? Or maybe finding an addon?
It makes healing a bit easier being able to see more. Thank you.
edit: to clarify, I’m asking if I would be allowed to do this.
It looks like there’s a command that you can add to a macro for Classic to do what you’re hoping to do:
Since it’s an in-game command, if Blizz wants to disable it they can, but it’s otherwise 100% fine to use

The camera distance was intentionally changed around 2016 if I remember correctly. This is Classic, thus I believe it is set for what was possible in vanilla.
Why wouldn’t you? As Perl mentioned, it’s an in-game command. It’s not a bug that you are taking advantage of.

As that console variable still resets on the ENTER WORLD event it’s probably better to install the MaxCam Classic addon by Ketho -
This addon will the camera distance to max for you so you don’t have to click a macro on login.

Also slightly more on topic - Blizzard can lock or make protected certain console variables if they don’t want them used. There are many mysterious console variables I would really like to play with unfortunately they are protected (looking at you PraiseTheSun)

I see! I was worried that /commands were similar to altering game files & wanted to be sure. Thanks!
