With the new war mode I understand that turning it on is consent to players killing other player regardless of level and ability. But is corpse camping a player you already defeated and the player’s inability to exit war mode in the outside acceptable player conduct. Term easy player farming for rewards, seems to like the new easy way to gain gear. While I am aware most would say turn it off and we have seen what happens when a majority of players do with the new losing side bonus and the ability to turn it off in any inn. So again back to my question is corpse camping acceptable player conduct? If so why isn’t there an option to turn it off when dead to allow the escape from player farming?
All players can actively choose when they wish to engage in PvP combat by enabling or disabling War Mode in the talents interface while in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. If you do not wish to engage in PvP combat, do not activate War Mode.
War Mode allows open combat between players of opposing factions that have opted in to PvP (Player versus Player). Players that activate War Mode are encouraged to resolve cross-faction disputes on their own. The Game Master staff will not intervene in PvP disputes.
The following actions may be considered dishonorable but are considered legitimate PvP tactics and will not be addressed by our Game Master staff:
-
Corpse camping
-
Killing players well below your level
Unfortunately it’s allowable but dishonorable; What I used to do was get on “General” chat and announce that you were being camped and if other allies are in the area they will be glad to come and help (Or at least they used to).
It was always fun for me to see the tables turned the other way when this would happen to me.
It’s probably a kid with nothing better to do on a early morning.
While it’s not a “honorable” thing to do, Corpse Camping lowbies is fine and by the rules.
If it gets to be too much, Turn off War Mode for a while and quest in peace.
Well that’s the point you can not escape. The new tactics include camping the corpse and the respawn area and so your caught in a loop. Ans since you can not turn it off without a inn. I was wondering if an option to turn it off when you dead to allow you to escape the “player farming loop”. You could even place a 30 minute restriction to turn it back on.
When I couldn’t get help when I called out for it I would log of that toon and play another for 30 minutes or so then log back in and see if he’s gone and if not just repeat He’ll get tired of it eventually.
So basically quit the game is the answer?
No just log in on another toon for a little bit, Are you the only one being done this way? If so he’ll get tired of it after a few minutes and if there’s more then one of you then I would hit /1 and get in general chat and see if you can get a higher level to come and help, sometimes /2 (Trade) works in some areas and you can get someone to come to your aid and watch him/her get their butt kicked.
Spirit rez is still a thing.
Thats not a viable system, that’s a maybe or if people feel like it. Since corpse camping is accepted, then I would like to have a out. Let me turn off war mode when i’m dead. So I can respawn safely and move on not get caught up in some toxicly acceptable game play.
That’s the chance you take when you have warmode on; I personally don’t play with mine on because it’s not worth the aggravation to me.
It’s Warmode. It’s inherently dangerous.
If that’s your opinion of Warmode, I would strongly suggest you leave it off.
Well, make a post in the PvP forums or use the ingame suggestion tool, as the devs do not come to the support forums for player feedback.
Honestly, if you cannot handle being camped in warmode, perhaps pvp isn’t for you.
Odds are better that it’s an adult being a jerk. The last time the information was released, the average age of WoW players was over 30. Why do people assume someone acting immature is a child?
It’s not new. That was a common tactic when there were PvP realms. Like others have said, play on another character and come back periodically to see if they have left.
You would need to post suggestions on this in the “Warmode and World PvP” forum or use the in-game option on the Help menu. The Devs don’t take suggestions or feedback from the Customer Support forum and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them.
I under stand that. But near everything else has an out. War mode doesn’t all I asking for is that out without having to lose my enjoyment of the game. By having to log out and play another character or completely not using a mode of the game that can be fun and exciting. Trying to fight other players and losing most of time isn’t my complain, it’s that there is no out except to stop playing and I think that’s wrong. Like the pvp talents there new and interesting and I don’t really care about the bonus exp or rep bonus. I’m not even looking to punish other players. But if it’s just getting stuck in a cycle that is only for someone else enjoyment because i’m a easy kill. Then i’m not a player up a target dummy for their increase kill score.
Having a button to turn it on and off at well would defeat the whole point of warmode. They want you knowingly turn it on and takes what comes with it. The mode isn’t there to turn off when something you don’t like comes by.
This kind of thing had been in game for many years and isn’t new.
Or an adult acting like a child; If I had x-ray vision like superman I’d know if it’s an adult or a child.
You’ll want to post your suggestion using the game Suggestion feature or by posting in the PvP/Warmode forum, Annanobis. It’s currently not a form of griefing or against any rules, which CS was able to clarify for you. CS won’t be able to help with the suggestion of toggling WM on death, etc, since that falls in with the devs (who aren’t in this forum). Good luck
Thanks guys i’ll try post it there, thank you all for your input.
Have you tried corpse-hopping to an inn or to get nearer a different graveyard? Make a plan. Go to the edge of where you can rez and run towards where you want to be. Do that until you can get to an inn and turn it off. Go back to SW or Org and turn it on again. Then you can go to another zone.
