Question for Healers, Tankers and DPS

I’m thinking about playing with a new tank in season 3. I’ve always played as a Guardian and Warrior. So, I have three questions:
Healers, do you prefer healing a Brewmaster or a Blood Death Knight?
Tankers, do you find Brewmaster or BDK more enjoyable?
DPS, when you play, do you prefer joining groups with a BDK or Brewmaster tanking?

Prefer healing a BDK but probably a sample size thing because I’ve come across so few Brewmasters

BDKs because they usually let me pull for them in timewalking dungeons and as a hunter, i get kicked out of the hunter club if i don’t stand in the middle of the room and spray barrage in every direction

Brewmasters need to be played well. If you don’t purge heavy stagger often enough you’re an absolute NIGHTMARE to heal.

DKs are a bit easier, but again if you aren’t being smart about your deathstrikes then you wind up being made of paper. It’s spooky for healers because a DKs health spikes around so much. It’s EXTRA spooky for healers in pugs because we don’t know if you’ll be the kind of DK that we barely even need to heal, or the kind that’s just as bad as a poorly-played Brewmaster.

Go play Paladin  /s

BDK. You have a LOT more power over your own health pool and if played quite well, you’re the absolute master of soloing stuff.

BDK. Brewmasters have to kite often and some classes are worse at a run-n-gun DPS style. BDKs can group everything up nice and neat for happy AoE nuke fun time.

From my experiences:
As a healer, Brewmaster is way less spikey and healing is generally easier imo as long as they take care of stagger correctly.
As a tank, I also prefer Brewmaster, but more because of the particular utilities it has compared to DK. Both have good survivability if played decent, and a useful tool kit in different scenarios.
As a DPS, I more often rip threat off of DKs than Brewmasters. I’m not sure if it’s player errors or what, but it seems like 8/10 DKs I run with lose threat to me shortly after trash pulls in dungeons. Brewmasters rarely drop threat to me in the same pulls. (I’m not some blow CDs on pull kind of DPS either. I toss in my builders and get rolling, but even in that instance I end up w/ mobs on my face a LOT w/ DK tanks.
Just my $.02

That’s a tough one.

Both look pretty solid for next patch.

Blood dk does have the chance at the new legendary weapon. Has a battle rez too.

Unless you’re planning on playing well past +20s then you should play what you enjoy more.

Yeah I know but i also want to know some experiences

So from a resto druid perspective. In mplus I would prefer the BM. As long as they have hots on them are fine and I can focus on dps and be prepared for the dps ooops I stood in bad.
For raid its Blood dk all the way. I can leave them alone and keep my raid alive and focus dps.

Fr. I still have doubts… I still dont know which spec Im going to play.

As a healer I don’t like pugging, but on the occasion I do, both Brewmaster and Blood Death Knight tend to be a bit rubber bandy in their health bar and when you don’t know the tank that can be stressful. That being said, I prefer healing Blood because at least then there’s the purgatory proc to let me know to pump heals into them.

I think brew is set-up currently to be the strongest tank out of the gate this coming tier, they’ll probably need it if it is. Honestly as a healer IDC given I’ve dealt with all types and tanks and it typically boils down to individual skill. In that I have seen warrior tanks absolutely blast keys, and then seen guardian druids struggle the entire way through a key this past season.

When I heal, I prefer Warrior.
When I tank, I prefer Warrior.
When I dps, I prefer Bear followed by Warrior.

Pretty straight forward.

Is said Blood DK a master of his class? Best tank in the game to have. I focus entirely on healing the DPS, those DK’s know how to keep themselves alive. Just keep on eye on them first ~5 seconds of the pull.

Brewmaster gives me anxiety no matter how good they are but I hear their new tier set makes them way more stable for their healers to handle.

DK is probably the “stronger” of the two and when min-maxing ext is probably the favorite.

But due to that exact reason, Id prefer being in a party with the brewmaster just because its something I dont get to play with too often. And I value uniqueness over copy paste meta

without a doubt my most hated tank to heal is blood DK.

some of them are just straight up reckless. and they will eat attacks with zero mitigation so they can get big Healy numbers.

As A Guardian Druid main… i’d still pick Bear

but, Brewmaster seems to do well later in the expansion because more gear means more armor which means better damage mitigation over all. and the damage should be good…

Blood DK is likely going to continue to be the king of “i dont need a healer for me if i dont mess up, so just heal the group and gg” with its dps value being on the low end comparatively to other tanks.

as i dont play Blood all i got is second hand points on the spec, but it does better with healers who can also do decent damage and the group struggles if the healer is of a low dps profile because the extra damage you would get from another tank would need to be made up in healer damage or broken cheese damage from the dps.

everything should be viable to 20s at least as long as tuning and balance hasn’t gone terribly wrong.

I don’t usually heal BDK, their life is almost 100% in their hands. Brew usually depends on my healing the most. If I can help it I would rather play with bears, even bad bears are easier to heal than good brews.

Id rather heal a good brewmaster due to the damage being less “spiky” tbh, plus we can do some fun double ring of peace stuff.

Good Blood DK are pretty much gods though and they do have a secondary B rez if it’s needed. Bad BDK make me a sad panda.

So my answer is anything other than a DH.

Both are great to heal when theyre played well but id say a bad blood dk is worse then a bad brm to heal since they tend to just fall over.
