There is a thread right below me and I had a question but don’t know how to comment on that thread (sorry if I am missing something and just being silly over here).
If I use /afk to take myself out of a battleground when I have to deal with a real-life problem, and get the deserter debuff, is that okay? I would prefer to have someone replace me than afk on my teammates. I was just wondering if I should be using the leave battleground thing in the menu, but I have been using /afk because the keyboard is a little easier for me to use.
Thank you for your time.
Pretty sure typing /afk and right clicking the little green eye then selecting Leave BG, has the same consequences. Pretty sure, not certain.

I’ll have to see if I can’t find the thread, but removing yourself does not stack against you like it would if you were reported by other players. You’re removing yourself, you’re not sitting there AFK reaping the benefits of free honor and kills.

You can use either method, you shouldn’t have any problems using /afk.
For non-participation actions we look at if you have been reported as afk/non-participation and the data supporting those incidents. We also tend to look at more than one game.
