Question about "unlock the base version of this appearance to unlock..." (Transmog)

Hi, I am looking to get a variant version of the faceguard of infused earth with dark purple color (not the one that you get from the raid in mythic difficulty). I currently posses the raid finder version (green one). To get the dark purple the collection tab says “unlock the base version of this appearance to unlock this dragonflight season 1 hero version”. What does this mean? What is the base version?

It’s a but that needs to be fixed, it’s very frustrating how it says that when it can only be that way if you own and used the looks before and now it’s not working!
