Question About Skada

First off, save the NPC comments of “DeTailLZss i sBETERTER”, I don’t care. I’ve been using details forever and its a memory hog. I don’t want your opinion about details.

Now that that’s cleared up, I installed Skada but it changed my name plate, health bar, mana bar and enemy nameplates colors to this weird black inverted theme instead of class themed like it defaults to. How do I change this back?

By uninstalling skada and installing details

I’m so bored with people like you.

It’s the only meter that gives accurate numbers, and if you’re running wow on anything more powerful than a TI-86, the memory usage is utterly irrelevant.

did you try to look at the addon page comments? There’s a possibility that not many of us use that particular addon - or if they do, they installed it a century ago and don’t remember how they fixed it.

also: download recount like a real man.

That’s factually not correct at all. They report the same numbers, they are just reported differently. But, NPCs usually read something online or see their favorite streamer using it so it’s all they know because of their tiny brains. It’s ok sweety.

I didn’t even know there was an addons page.

On mine, it’s using less than the amount of memory that one of the RaiderIO databases is using (56 mb vs 67 mb).

it’s here. see if you find it.

Is it possible that something is corrupted in my WoW file? It’s causing so much lag out of nowhere.

Thank you

I don’t understand why people like you feel the need to comment. Details has this weird cult-like following of super aggro people that use it. Relax. I don’t care about it. I don’t care about your opinion about it. If you don’t know the answer to my question, go away.

Reporting numbers “differently” aka incorrectly. It’s not a coincidence that everyone uses Details now. Those numbers match how Warcraftlogs calculates time and how it excludes obvious pad.

Read your post again. The aggro in this thread is 100% from you. This is the internet, not your personal wow concierge service. If you don’t like the responses, don’t read them.

How have you verified that it is details causing it and not another addon?

Addon memory use should not cause lag unless your computer is running at the minimum (8 GB ram) with other tasks open at the same time (chrome is notorious for being a ram hog)

I’d open task manager and check for high CPU processes. I’ve had a Windows WMI Provider Host melting my CPU periodically lately and making the game basically lock up on me at times. Has nothing to do with WoW, obviously, but background garbage like that can really take a toll.

I literally said in my post that I don’t care about your opinion about Details. I made that clear from the jump. You felt the need to talk about it anyway for some weird, obsessive reason. I don’t care. At all. How you feel. About Details. Ok? Sorry if it’s aggressive, but when I asked in trade chat the details fanboys also jumped down my throat. Either answer the question or don’t. I don’t need convincing that details is better. I know it’s better. I don’t care.

It turns out it wasn’t details causing the issue. It was TradeSkillMaster. I downloaded an addon that told me what was sucking up all the memory.

Enjoy reinstalling Details.

Yeah, That’s a very large resource hog. If any addon is going to be eating up a massive amount of memory, it’s that one.

That’s interesting. I’ll keep an eye out for that as well. What is the WMI Provider Host? If that’s contributing is there a way to fix it?

I literally just did lol

something that shouldn’t really be doing anything unless you’re on an enterprise system.

It’s some kind of essential windows voodoo that you can’t force close, unfortunately. I’m not really sure what it’s doing other than it’s important enough to be protected from tampering by mere mortals like us. I had to do a full restart to get it to stop–it was using like 97% of my (new and powerful) cpu. Super lame.
