Question about screen recording programs

Just a quick question. I installed and tried out a couple of screen recorders to make videos of myself playing WoW (OBS Studio and Movavi Screen Recorder) and just now it occurs to me to ask if these programs are allowed to be used with WoW?

The programs have you set the window for recording (WoW.exe in this case) so is that something that will be picked up as unallowed 3rd party software?

I’m assuming not but I don’t want to get banned for trying to record videos.

Nah, streamers generally use them too for broadcasting on Twitch etc.

What Blizzard means with “unauthorized programs” are things that can give you an unfair edge, like flyhacking, or if you go for a cup of tea and your toon continues to play autonomously without human input.

Thanks, that’s what I was assuming but then it popped into my mind how people have said they’ve been banned from random software on their pcs and I got worried, lol.

Downloaded the narcissus addon and that combined with the screen recorders is making some pretty cool animation videos of my transmogs.

Yes, I like to play dress up with virtual dolls, as my wife likes to say.

People who have been suspended for random software is clients running in the background that can alter or automate the gameplay. Recording games doesn’t alter the game play, so that is a bit of a difference. Video recording software is something that is fully allowed.

Yep I’ve used it myself to record a view videos (just using Nvidia Shadowplay in my case though).
