Quick question for anyone who cares.
Why are names like {Inappropriate names removed} were not? I know at least 5 people have reported all of the previous a few times, but they aren’t being forced to name change.
I genuinely do not understand the naming process, or why some reports are taking more seriously than others.
I don’t think that any of them are and you should report them. Just because someone types it, doesn’t mean it is acceptable. If someone gets flagged for a rename and they change it back, they’ll get a heavier penalty next time.
If you think they are not allowed in game, why would you repeat them in here and risk getting a forum suspension?
You do not know what has happened. GM’s may not have arrived at these names in the report queue, or it’s most likely that they did get name changes and the players named them back to the same thing.
Keep reporting.
Any of those names and all of those names are not acceptable! If you use one and get reported you will be forced to change your name! Do not pick names like that!
I’ve reported them several times, along with a few friends, and they just carry on. I’ve friended some, just to see. And the name never changes. =/
Keep reporting them! Possible they are renaming using the same name!
I’d say several of them clearly aren’t appropriate, Qarlach, while a couple are… questionable, and if you see characters in the game with those names please use the right click report option to report them.
Friending them simply allows you to see how they were reflected in-game the last time they may have logged in. It doesn’t tell you if the character was renamed and they simply selected the same name again, it doesn’t tell you if the character is currently flagged for a rename and hasn’t logged in yet.
It is hard to say because we cannot provide specifics about another player’s account, but that characters with the names exist does not at all mean they are okay.
In general people report other people a lot less than people think. Its not uncommon for people to come in ranting about “mass reports” and how they did nothing wrong, and where we will find out, that their language was often extremely offensive, where it wasn’t a one time thing, and yet at the same time there were no mass reports, and they were often only reported a few times. So if you see a name you think is offensive, report it, don’t expect others have. Also, it does take sometime for most reports to get processed.
Lastly, some people think they can just rename their character back if it’s been flagged figuring nobody will report them again. So if you see them a few days later with the same name, go ahead and report them again.
This isn’t just me assuming, it’s friends who also find it offensive and have reported as well.
Well the thing is players will often get a name change and change it back if forced to change it and if they do it after a forced name change and it gets reported teh actions get worse.
Typically when they get DC’d & flagged for a rename, it doesn’t show up as the name anymore, it becomes Player4T1b98HNE5 or something similar, which is usually how I know the reporting is working, especially if the name stays and the character never gets logged onto again.
That hasn’t been happening. So if I’m online, report the person, they disconnect & become Player while Offline and then log back in with the same name, I know there was a name change and they chose the same name. However, when I was forced to name change, it told me I couldn’t choose the name that had been flagged.
It takes a few times before they get to the point blizzard will change the name to something you listed! They will be asked for several name choices and then a gm will pick one that is available and with in the rules and change the name.
At first it forces the player to rename but they can also be dumb and put in the same name again. This happened I remember a while ago, guy kept naming his toon after a serial killer. He even came to this forum and at one point said that was his name. Of course the FSA shot that down.
