Question about Multiboxers

Here’s my opinion. I’ve come across a couple multiboxers. Its corny and the people who do it are losers who take a game a little too seriously. Other than that I couldn’t care less as they only affect me very rarely

I think it has to do with how knowledgeable the boxer is. To know the set up of character’s he needs to survive a raid sized group.

In my opinion and mine only…there should be a limit of each class used.

As you said 15 dks and the shamans makes it almost impossible to kill him.

Maybe limiting them would be a answer.

Wow. Impressive.

Just another interesting thing I noticed:

According to their guild achievements, they earned 100,000 HKs on 6/19/2020 and 250,000 HKs on 7/11/2020. They are currently at 455,000 as of today. That’s… a lot of fictional blood on their hands in a very short amount of time.

No, don’t limit the class type. If you can’t handle WPvP turn WM off.

To what problem? I don’t think I’ve ever been killed by a boxer since I started playing in Vanilla, and I’ve spent most of my wow life on PVP servers. Of course, if I see a boxer, I go the other way. lol

I’m not sure. I’m not sure that’s an answer–or that there even needs to be an answer. If Blizzard says it’s not wrong, I guess it’s not wrong. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s not disruptive to what I consider fair gameplay but it is what it is.

I don’t know -anything- about multiboxing. But in my opinion, it seems like the ability to so cleanly control 20 characters like that means the person is using -something- (whether software, addons, macros? I’m not sure) to an unfair advantage. Rhetorical question that I find myself asking (myself, haha): How do they fly under the radar like that?

I’m just saying something lol

I have been killed by them. I didn’t run fast enough…or was dumb enough to try and fight.

Usually I make tracks in another direction.

I was on Dalvengyr for several years. I don’t remember any boxers on there but I could be wrong. I think Darkspear had 1 or 2.

I think a decent portion of boxer complaints (40%, 60%, 80%?) could be immediately solved with just one simple change: remove the “follow” command.

Blizzard hides behind the excuse of “as long as a key is being pressed” … but no key is being pressed for MOVEMENT on the secondary accounts. They’re using the “follow” command. And so… by Blizzard’s own reasoning (weak as it is), no key is being pressed.

What do we REALLY need a follow command for, anyway??? The 3-4 times a year when we need to go afk/WC and OMG PEOPLE JUST CAN’T WAIT?!?!?!111111

Seriously, that NEVER happens. Just remove “Follow”. We don’t need it.

And watch a massive portion of boxing just go +poof+

good riddance

That’s what I’m saying. Blizzard says it’s ok. I say if they want that many accounts, it’s their dime. Either learn to fight them or go another way.

I have no idea how to either. One is enough for me. Sure I’d like to be adept enough to be able to do that but not happening lol

They do use a program I think? Not sure if it’s considered an add-on or not.
As long as they only use a single key stroke and by the player only it’s allowed.

Careful, someone might think you’ve changed your stance and just not being sarcastic. Wouldn’t want that.

“Blizzard says it’s ok.”

I’m a little tired of hearing this … “reason” / “EXCUSE.”

Because from all I’ve read about it, I’m convinced that Blizzard doesn’t really have any way to STOP IT in a practical sense. And so, they’ve settled on a position that, semantically, works for them… and because it’s not really a RAMPANT problem, it’s just money in their pocket.

Read as: they can kick the can down the road, ignore it for now, and MAKE SOME MONEY!

Because once we agree it’s bad for the game, Blizzard’s ONLY move is to ban them.

To ban them, they will need PROOF. And… I think this is where the keep dropping the ball. They can never PROVE someone was boxing.

And so… they let it go under the usual list of nonsense.

edit: This is the same reason cops bust people speeding A LOT more than people “driving recklessly.” The latter is MUCH MUCH MUCH more dangerous… but it’s also incredibly subjective. Whereas speeding is entire OBJECTIVE. It says 55… you were going 68… done-and-done.

But “weaving in and out traffic” … well, was there room? How much room? Says who??? That’s like multiboxing. So… they just let it go.

You may be tired of hearing it…but it is the truth. Not an excuse, but the truth.

As for money in pocket? Well yea. They are a business.

Look I don’t care if someone boxes or not.
I understand your stance and other’s who feel like they shouldn’t have to move from area or die from a boxer. I’m not saying I haven’t used a few choice words
when killed by one.

What I am saying is… If you’re going to complain about dying to a boxer in Warmode…then you choose to die that way. If you don’t like it…stay out of Warmode.

Don’t use the complaint that a boxer killed you in Pvp when you choose to be in Pvp. That’s all.

I like pvp, but not a fan of it. I used to be, but after several years on a pvp server
I did get tired of it. Now we have an option of not being in Pvp all the time.

I know it sounds like I’m all for boxers, but truth is, I’m impressed with their ability but otherwise I don’t care either way.

I just like multiboxing because it really seem to make so many people cry.

You just ignored everything I just posted about the fallacy of that “truth.” You acknowledged it I wrote it, but ignored it.

You may have been using the general-case “you”, and not really referring to ME, but just so we’re clear, I don’t really care about the PvP aspect of boxing. In 15 years, I think it’s affected me 4 times.

In PvE, however, it changes the game. PERIOD. Just that statement says it all: Multiboxing CHANGES how the PvE portion of the game functions.

That’s not a good thing.

Wand of Lightning Shield. It was an amazing item.

Multiboxing is not cheating. If you see someone cheating while they are multiboxing, report them for the cheating. Falsely reporting people for multiboxing when you know they’re not breaking rules wastes the time of investigators who should be out banning bots.

So why would someone decide to report multiboxers who they know aren’t breaking any rules, when doing so interferes with blizzard dealing with bots? I just figure people who do that run bots and are trying to keep from being caught. I can’t think of any other reason why they’re trying to keep bots from being banned.

You keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means.

As far as I know, people who do large teams are few, far, and in-between.

Players can define it as cheating because it is cheating. The only thing we cannot do is exercise power in banning this behavior because Blizzard doesnt care. So yea Blizzard does not consider it cheating but I do and I will continue to call it cheating until The end of time

Great movie. But if you’re going to use it in this situation, you have to refute what I said. Because what I said is accurate, I know what the word means, and I used it properly.

They don’t have to do anything if they don’t want to.

I care (and yet don’t care, hah) about the PvP aspect of multiboxing. This person has accumulated a disturbing number of HKs over the past month which translates into achievements earned which translates into items, gear, and titles. Single-player play versus multi-player auto-play just doesn’t seem fair at all. For me, multiboxing in PvE is no better or worse than multiboxing in PvP; they are equal.

I do agree with the aspect of Blizzard raking in extra income from multiboxers. Why be against it when they can make a profit, albeit perhaps a small one, off of it?
