Question about links

If I post a link, does everything in that link have to be 100% forum-appropriate? From reading the forum CoC it seems like the answer is probably yes, but I’m not sure if it’s something people really care about if it’s minor. I’m not talking about straight-up adult content or political content or hate speech - that obviously doesn’t belong. I’m talking about things that would overall be forum appropriate, but contain a word I wouldn’t use here. For example, two YouTube videos that are WoW related that I’ve discussed here before or wanted to discuss. First, there’s Big Blue Dress by Cranius. It’s a funny song about how the singer wishes his mage could wear pants instead of a robe (this was written before transmog). But I’m not a fan of the language he uses to object to the robe, because it can be taken as insulting to a particular group of people, and I don’t want to hurt people, so I didn’t actually link it. (I hope. As far as I remember.)

Second, there’s I’m the One That’s Cool by The Guild. The Guild are a fictional group who play The Game (but it’s obviously WoW), and the song is about how gamers and others became trendy and cool for a while. This song is not insulting to anyone except mean people, so I wouldn’t feel bad about posting it, but it does include mild language that I would not use on the forums. So I think I shouldn’t link it either. But I wanted to see if people think my interpretation is correct.

Generally speaking, yes. The content of anything that you link should also adhere to the Forum Code of Conduct.

There have been many links I’ve had to remove over the years because the commentator used inappropriate language in it.

Can confirm. If the link uses anything against the rules, even mildly, they remove it. I am not allowed to link the XKCD comic on Free Speech for example. Yes, I tried it once. Just once.

Nope. Got that message clearly.
