Question about leveling enchanting

It’s been a long time since I leveled my enchanting- in fact, so long I’ve forgotten the process. I’ve started getting back into but I’m still a little lost.

I’m basically leveling the easy way- with my tailoring. Just crafting cheap stuff and disenchanting them (gloves, headbands, etc.). My question is: can I disenchant low quality items (ie, Heavy Woolen Gloves) until I hit 375, or will those stop giving XP at some point and then I have to move on to disenchanting silk, mageweave, etc.?

You stop gaining skills from DEing altogether at about 60 skill points IIRC.

Ah… I see. Well shoot. No taking the easy way out :joy:

I actually just looked it up and it’s level 70. So I can at least be lazy to that point. Thanks

Google it, there are excellent guides out there. Enchanting is one of the more annoying ones to level.

Using a guide i bought my way from 1-375 enchanting. Took about 1800g

It takes about 800 of all the dusts. So you will need an extreme amount of items to DE

Luckily they’re a mage. Can AoE down nearly any old world dungeon to 300, and several Outland areas + dungeons to get most of the rest.

Me: “Hey, I have a question…”
You: “Google it moron

:joy:

Sometimes I prefer reaching out and asking people with actual game experience, rather than asking a search engine box. I know… it’s absolutely terrible :pensive:

Ha! I wish :joy: Maybe one day, but I’m not very good at AOE farming, especially in dungeons against elites. I even struggle with Stockades, but it is something I’m working on. Probably has a lot to do with my gear, but I’m saving up for flying, so gear will have to wait a while. Maybe by the time Wrath comes out I’ll figure it out, lol

I’m starting to level enchanting on my mage. I plan on just AOE farming for greens and cloth, tailoring things, and de’ing them for the mats. I guess it’s probably more efficient to just gold farm and then buy the mats but i’m on a small server with a small AH where you mostly farm your own mats.

Even if you only deal with one pack at a time, it’ll be a decent rate. Especially with you being a tailor; prioritizing dungeons with appropriate cloth tiers to DE will probably be faster than taking over areas people are questing in.

See this is the problem with communicating via text, it doesn’t convey tone. I wasn’t calling you a moron (you added that).

However, there are literally half a dozen easy to follow and complete guides already written.

Which would provide an astronomical amount of information over what anyone on these forums could even remotely hope to provide without actually referencing said guide. (Quoting you, but responding to OP.)

Nothing wrong with wanting to ask other people necessarily; however, asking the “chat box” would be a lot more efficient. :man_shrugging:t2:

I just did the 0-360 grind yesterday and here are a few key notes I learned:

-Check multiple guides. All of them have helpful information that you won’t find by just reading one.
-Buy the enchanting formulas from vendors that you need first. Some of them can be camped or farmed so it’s best to do this early.
-There is a bracer/gloves/chest vendor that you can use to level your early enchants in each major city. The one in SW is right next door to the AH.
-Once you get to a high enough enchanting level, constantly refresh the AH to check on greens that are worth more by DEing (7g or under usually). Arcane dust is 2g each on my server, this is a major way you can save money in the later levels.

  • So you buy these greens (lvl 35+ only), level your enchanting on them, then DE. The earlier you buy them, the easier the leveling process will be.

-For 360-375, buy cheap green rings early.

Hope this helps.

Damn, i wonder how guides get made. must be robots.

I know you didn’t call me that- I was being a smartass

I have lost count of the number of times I have ever asked people questions- in real life and online- and the response I get is “Just Google it”.

I appreciate your response, it just struck me as funny- that’s all
