Question about gifting Blizzard Balance

Hello - I got a refund and it ended up being Blizzard Balance, with essentially no way to pull it back other than to spend it in the Blizz store. After playing since vanilla, i’m hanging it up. It looks like it might be possible to gift game time and the Blizzard balance to a guildie or in-game friend, but I’m not sure if it will take the current balance, or ya know charge my card to fund the gift. Is it possible to send the Blizzard Balance to another player using the balance in my account right now? If not, what’s the best way to gift a $40 balance in a Blizzard account to another player?

Thanks!

No. You can only purchase blizzard balance to gift to someone else.

However, you can definitely use blizzard balance to gift game time or even pets/mounts from the shop. Just look for items that have the “Gift” option.

You can also remove your credit card info from your account to make sure it’s not billed instead by removing it here:

Thanks! Bummer. I’ve gotta try to figure out how to parcel it out so that I don’t have to spend any more cash, and don’t end up with a $5 balance

Another option might be to buy tokens from the shop (not the AH) and then sell them on the AH and you can give away the gold if you want to.

Just another option

I understand the feeling. I have $0.87 sitting in my account balance, and I don’t know how to use it, or how to get rid of it (if that’s even possible).

Yup, mine shows the same

Best you can do is figure out something you want to purchase (game time, a token, etc.) with balance and then top up your balance with exactly the amount needed to make the purchase.

Somehow, when I did it, it cost one cent less than I anticipated so I was left with a penny in my balance. I just pretend it’s there for good luck!

Yea, this was left over from the Diablo AH days. Anyways, thanks for the idea.

You can buy tokens will Bnet balance? Has it always been like that?

Have a nice day.

:poop:

Yes you can, I do it when I have cash in hand and don’t want to use my card to buy tokens.

You mean cash in Bnet balance, yes? So I could use my $20 Bnet balance to buy a token to get 130k gold (or whatever the going price is), correct? For some reason I thought that was restricted. But if true, that’s good to know. Thanks.

Have a nice day.

I mean, if I have $20 on my person and buy a Bnet balance, it can be used as an alt way to buy Blizzard stuff without my credit card, like tokens.

Yes. Blizzard Battle.net Balance can be used to purchase most digital goods and services.

Excellent. I thought tokens were one of those things you could not buy with balance. This is good to know. Thank you.

Have a nice day.

I have a separate question about gifting something to someone. What happened if you gift them mounts and or pets they already have? Will I be able to get a refund back for my purchase?

You can always put in a ticket if that happens. I’d recommend checking out their character on the armory to see if they have the pet or mount already, first.

Good idea. Thanks for the tip!

If you opt to gift your friends via battletag, the system will do a scan and tell you if they already have that particular store product or not.

I am trying to gift my balance to a friend and i removed all payment options but it wont let me gift my balance to my friend without putting in the cc info. What?? Can i gift it or not? Will i be billed the 22 bucks and lose my balance wth is this crap?

You can not gift your balance to someone else. You can buy new Bnet balance as a gift.

Also, please look at thread dates before posting. This one is 3 years old. Information in a thread that old is likely obsolete. It is usually best to make your own thread if there is nothing recent.
