so if a post i made was flagged but never followed up on that is just left to rot and get auto deleted does that mean that resets the six month flag timer? if it was from november does that mean i have to start all over from that date in november from the six months?
Don’t think this is a thing. Only thing I’ve heard of is the dampen falling off after 24 hours.
Do you mean the length of time before confirmed penalties fall off? If the post was removed without a sanction going into effect I don’t think it affects any timer.

the system does autodelete it after 30 days if a post is flagged by the community and nothing is done about it by any mods. this is a confirmed part of how discourse works. my question is it the silence or the flag itself that triggers the 6 month waiting period? maybe they changed it idk.
If it’s flagged by the community to the point that it it temporarily hidden, it generates a report for a moderator to look at. Until that report is addressed, it is still in their queue. There really isn’t an option to “leave it to rot”, as it were. Unless there is a bug that is preventing it from showing up in the queue.

yeah i do thank vrak. i removed the s and the semicolon. i never got any followup on what happened. so i assumed it was just autodeleted after 30 days like with what happens to threads that get flagged. cant really remember what it was about either.

That post was moderated. It doesn’t appear to have been penalized, just deleted. Moderators will often delete posts/threads that they don’t feel warrant a penalty, but probably should be removed due to the nature of the post, the aggression or tone in it, etc…
And no, since it wasn’t penalized it doesn’t appear to have impacted your account history.

okay thanks. yeah i was wondering because i never got any notice that it was deleted or anything. did that change with the new layout and they just dont notify you via notifications when its deleted?

The notifications tend to be automatic when a moderator handles the post. I don’t know when those notices are triggered.
