I played in original TBC, and I remember when the Wrath prepatch came out everything got severely nerfed. Guilds that couldn’t even enter Black Temple before were suddenly getting to Illidan. Pugs were doing Sunwell trash, which would have been unheard of a week earlier.
Is this the version of TBC we have now? Or is 2.4.3 class abilities with the pre-nerf bosses?
I remember the wrath pre-patch and how broken everything was. The first version of chaosbolt bypassed absorbs and you could one shot those big elementals with the mana shield in curators room. My guild leader was a mage and always talked smack on warlocks and when I blew those mobs up with one chaos bolt he went bonkers lol.
I remember in original Kara being geared in crafted epics and the expectation was for spellcasters to do 600dps. Now Im doing level 65 dungeons with casters doing 900dps in quest gear.
All these quick fights also explain why mana is a non issue, which did not used to be the case.
Really too bad, as I think TBC raiding and dungeons were the best tuned blizzard ever made. No one will get to experience what they were actually like.
Many have said this is 2.4.3 and that’s kinda right but it’s also wrong because there are some very notable differences in this game vs actual 2.4.3 classes.
Even things like racials are not 2.4.3, they are using much earlier versions of a lot of stuff.
Basically it’s a what blizzard player devs wanted it to be, and that’s fine they could have and should have very clearly articulated their changes in patch notes like the old days, and included a database to look over with all the spell mechanics and stuff, but they did none of those things this time around.
