I asked if you seriously thought Nerubians from under a random island were stronger than the legion. You said yes because they’re empowered by the new big bad, when they aren’t. They’re empowered by C’thun. From Vanilla.
We aren’t seeing an increase in the threat faced by Azeroth at all. Maybe hypothetically in Last Titan when a void lord actually shows up we’ll face something stronger than the Legion. But until then, we’ve spent the last two expansions fighting weaklings compared to who we fought before. That’s just a fact.

That one was good. Thanks for reminding me of it. I think there are some really thoughtful story quests in every expansion, although it must be disheartening to write those knowing most players don’t even read them lol.
They’ll never acknowledge this as true. They’ll just pretend that Vanilla is a meme factory like Cataclysm is without ever even seeing or reading the quests from it. Everyone who thinks this way is just nostalgic… and the people who didn’t play vanilla before 2010 and saw the quests for the first time in classic are just… well they’re wrong… OK?!
Oh, and even if Vanilla WoW was grittier and more serious… WoW was always bad ok?! Trust me, I played DnD and the stories my friends came up with are WAY better… ok?!

It does. It feels like Disney writing, and it was the first thing I thought as well after coming back from a couple missed expansions.
I know PvP gets a lot of hate, but Alliance vs Horde was a defining theme for the game, and the original RTS’s, for years. Without that, it really feels like another generic MMO.
