Quest Mobs not having their nameplates showing up

Edit:
Just an update that I have observed while playing tonight…

If the quest is a straight up killing quest, the nameplates show up over the heads and I know who I need to kill.

If the quest is a pick up quest/drop quest from a mob, their names do not show up over their head. All of this is in the starting BE area…

I posted this in bugs forum but didn’t get any responses. Please forgive me if this has been addressed before but I have noticed that the mob nameplates are not showing up on some of the quests.

I.E. I have a quest to collect pelts from shadowmaw panthers. When I go to do the quests none of the shadowmaw panthers have their nameplate above them to show where they are. When I mouse over them, it doesn’t even indicate that it is for a quest. I haven’t played in a while so I don’t know if this is something new. This isn’t for all mobs as humanoids still have their nameplates over their head. I have tried Ctrl V has people have tried in game to have me do but that doesn’t work.

I just did the “Dealing with Zeb’Sora” quest in the Ghostlands and none of the mobs had their names over their head unless I selected them. Same with the Arcane Reavers. I disabled my add-ons but that didn’t help…reloaded the UI and that didn’t do anything.

Default key to make nameplates available is V.
You might have accidentally hit it.
Check your ‘names’ options in interface options as well. Hope that fixes it!

Hitting V doesn’t help because the nameplates show up on some quest mobs, just not on all of them. I’ve gone through all the options as well.

Go with NPC Names, All NPCs. Quest target NPCs will still get highlighted healthbars and nameplates over the rest.

That may be what I have to do, I just didn’t want the ones that weren’t quest mobs to have their names over their head.

Thanks.
