Quantity or quality? Poly, Fear and Clone

I don’t understand why to this day, Polymorph, Fear and Cyclone, have no cooldowns?

This is real braindead spam abilities, all similar controls to other classes have cd.

I suggest add to listed spells 20 sec cd, and 30 sec for Cyclone.
For Poly and Fear can be available 2nd charge btw.
At the same time maybe need to increase Poly’s and Fear’s duration up to 8 sec.
Or maybe significantly increase cast time.

Cyclone generally the strongest CC in game,
non-dispelling spell (only once in 2 min with MD), think it’s normal that it can be spammed?

Best I can do for you is cyclone being on a 10s cd but increased to a 30 yard range :wink:

Actually, even 15 seconds doesn’t sound that bad for a Сyclone and 10 sec for Fear and Polly, without duration increasing.

TLDR: Buff ret/war/fw by nerfing spammable CC.

It is genuinely insane how posts like this keep coming up and it really just shows that you’ve never played a wizard into ret/war/X or whatever fotm melee cleave.

It is possible to compensate for this by increasing casting spells damage and the power of slowing effects or preventing movement effects.

I also multi class many specs not just a mage.

Imagine tomorrow 20-30 second CD on poly/fear/clone and queing into ret/war/fw :joy: :joy:

Mage/lock/druids will join MM hunter and only be relevant when their damage is so crazy overtuned it sends everyone sobbing en masse to the forums

Cyclone at most could prob use 1s off duration.

Spammable cc is fine, you can counter it, the problem is spammable cc + instant cc’s like demo locks. Having a spammable fear + axe toss x2 + coil is kinda toxic. Then also frost mages having what seems like 10 roots all on different dr’s along with their spammable cc feels miserable to play against. Every other mage and lock specs cc is fine.
Cyclone is fine, it just is kinda op with precog / on ferals where they get damage for cloning.

I think every druid and non druid player has been asking for changes to cyclone in some form of nerf in exchange for more survivability.

If you wanna giga buff druids, sure. If not, you die in the opener to ret/war every time because they just trinket cyclone and you have no other peels.

Yeah, and unkillable or giga damage is infinitely more overpowered than an annoying CC.

S1 SL remembers giga damage fire. I didn’t need poly and people died before meteor dropped. Won most games with sap and rogue cc.

arcane mages with their 70% slows and 200000 trillion gorbillion warps are now considered a CC and i cant touch them so im being crowd controlled. they need nerfing now. i suggest giving warriors bolas to break their legs so they cannot warp anymore

I do think arcane is kinda wonky where when its played at even like 70% correct effectiveness it’s just unkillable into every melee and most range. Personally I’d like to see alter time made unpurgeable but only have like a 6s duration.

Unhealable for whom? As far as I know, all the bosses in all available difficulty modes have been killed.

I was just happy to 2-4 a lobby with an arcane mage the other day. Yes, that means I only one my 2 games with the arcane mage on my team who went 6-0 (ret, warr, dh were other dps).

He’s talking about melee dps.

I’m playing ret/ww. If we’re left unchecked we’re doing 150-200k+ dps and something is dying extremely fast.

So please, eliminate spammable cc so I can get my first glad mount. Or at least another duelist enchant even if this one sucks imo.

You get stunned once and you can’t be stunned again for 10 seconds.

And the same for snare…

That’s not really a cc design problem, but a mobility design problem imo. They aren’t as good at peeling for their teamates as the two I mentioned.
