Is it really reasonable to keep the PvP weapons unavailable to pvpers for half the game’s life cycle? Holding weapons off for another entire phase seems so demotivating.

They said Rank 14 wasn’t going to be available until AQ literally back in Phase 1.
I dunno what you expected.
Just because they said it, doesn’t mean it’s a good decision. Tell PvErs that the only way they can get their weapons until AQ is to do PvP and see how well they take it.

I’d rather them give us boosted PvP weapons equivalent to the boosted AQ gear in Phase 6 rather than them give us PvP weapons equivalent to BWL gear now tbh.
But they won’t be boosted to AQ40 levels, just based off what we’ve seen them do with the rest of the PvP gear. They’ll slap some extra stam on it, maybe some extra SP for the casters, and ship it. They’ll be BWL equivalent in AQ40 at best.

there’s a big difference between gear and weapons. we’ve seen them increase the dmg on every other weapon in SoD so far, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t increase the damage on pvp weapons as well.
but we’ll see what happens.
I’m still holding out hope that they might add a Rank 15 or something and more PvP rewards beyond just weapons in Phase 6, but that feels more and more like cope at this point. PvP got left behind ages ago in SoD. We’re lucky they even slapped extra stats on the Rank 12-13 gear.
A shocking idea, they could do both.
This is exactly what they could do to distribute said weapons. Just frustrating to get stuck with one of the worst iterations of the honor system, and then have it gatekept to make the experience even worse and more unrewarding.

R14 weapons are already worse than the new BWL weapons actually. Just comparing Crul to the R14 1h axes. There’s absolutely 0 shot the R14 weapons are good for anything other than catch-up gear. And the rank grind is way too much time investment for catch-up gear.

Not really anymore. Rank 14 is going to be practically free now. As of Thursday, every source of honor is being doubled. Decent mountains with guildies that used to give 30-50k honor will now give 70-100k, AVs will go from 2-2.5k to 4-5k, and every three WSG or AB losses will give 15000 honor guaranteed.
Ranking up is going to honestly be super easy going forward. Not even going to have to try, really.
Still time-gated by the weekly progression cap on rank gain. In the same irl time it would take you to get to rank 14 you could’ve done BWL/MC like 5 or 6 times with a guild and be better geared. Even if they buff the weapons to AQ levels, the class that cares the most about weapons (Warriors) will not care because we’re just waiting for the next weapon with a proc that we can get under a 1.5 swing speed. The 2.9 speed 1h’s are DoA for us. Maybe another class can get value but do you see what I’m saying?
R13 is already barely worth doing (maybe not at all? Jury’s still out), why even go R14?

They should have added a tier 1.5 quality weapon for rank 11. Since currently rank 11 gives nothing but a cosmetic mount.

Yea its not hard to copy paste daggers, swords, maces and give them stats to match the pve weapons.
I mean they copy/paste stuff in retail and re sell it all the time.

Seems weird, at least for rogues, since perds is pretty much a 1 for 1 equivalent of the grand marshal daggers. I just really don’t feel like doing the PvE game again. Put up with it for classic vanilla, at least enough to get some t1 / t2 / perds, but I just really don’t enjoy that stuff.

just as good as r14 weps. no reason to give everyone free weps immediately at the start of this phase. r14 wep is catch up if u dont get anything this phase. r13 gear still bis for pvp
I would have long ago taken rank, weapons and gone to destroy the capitals of the horde with my guild. We’re being held back by the stupid DHK mechanics right now. If we do this, we will be forced to farm the rank again when PvP guns open
