PvP weapons stalled for an entire phase

this is what doesnt make sense unless theyre buffing the hwl weapons a bunch. by the time we can get them theyll likely be useless.

2.9 speed, 59 DPS one handers… they’re probably better than all BWL weapons in SoD, even without any buffs

Crul’shorukh was ever so slightly better as an off-hand in classic… but that was before whirlwind and slam and stormstrike and lava lash hit with offhand weapons. So that 2.9 speed actually matters in SoD.

Yeah, it’s fine.

The pvp weapons are worse than what we get out of BWL right now on SoD. Especially if you’re a class that got a good class specific weapon this phase. I compared the 1h axes earlier, crul is clearly better, not least of which because you can get it under 1.5 swing speed.

Slam is not normalized. It also hits with offhand weapons in SoD. 2.9 speed (with better offensive stats) is going to be quite a bit better than Crul, which is only 2.4 speed.

The actual swing speed is irrelevant. It only matters because slam calculates its bonus at 2.9x your AP, while Crul uses 2.4x AP. Again, because it’s not normalized.

It doesn’t matter. Getting under 1.5s swing speed with windfury is worth more than unnormalized slam with a 1h, because it impacts literally everything the entire fight on every single swing.

Windfury doesn’t even apply to offhand weapons, and Crul was only ever better than rank 14 weapons as an offhand. I don’t think you know what you’re talking about.

They buffed crul in sod for one, and people didn’t know about the windfury/haste interactions until naxx. Those interactions still work in sod and it puts crul ahead. I’m sorry you’re uninformed.

Yes, Crul was buffed by 2 whole attack power and made 0.1s slower. Not moving the needle.

Windfury is also not normalized. It also procs far more often than Blood Surge. You definitely do not want to use a 2.4 in your main hand over a 2.9 when you have windfury.

Buddy, if you don’t know about the interaction between windfury and your swing timers, you should go educate yourself before saying stupid things on the forum.

You should probably play Horde (the only faction that had Windfury in Classic) and then you would understand why Deathbringer - a 2.9 weapon btw - was used over Crul in the mainhand.

SoD has added even more attacks that are not normalized compared to classic.

You should probably know that I played horde in classic 2019 and actually know what I’m talking about, more than you do clearly.

Pvp weapons are at minimum on par with BWL, better than ZG/MC and just barely below anything out of the SECOND HALF of AQ40. You do not deserve to afkave your way to weapons better than anyone else can access by any means other than afkaving themselves.

Don’t worry I’ll educate you because I’m bored and this is just sad since you’re clearly too stubborn to learn anything without being spoonfed.

When you proc windfury, you get 409 AP (temporarily), if you have enough attack speed (read, sub 1.5) you will consistently benefit from an addition 409 AP on your swings. 409 AP is worth significantly more than whatever you think normalization is doing for you.

People realized this in naxxramas and crul/doom’s edge was actually significantly better than DB/crul if you went and slapped 1% haste on your head/legs and gloves so that with flurry procs you got both weapons under the threshold with rend buff+flurry.

Alliance have windfury and rend buff now, every warrior has smf providing an additional 10% attack speed…

Did I mention the quality of weapons? No. I don’t care if they have to nerf the weapons down a bit or adjust them or whatever. The fact is that they are unobtainable for another whole phase. Perds is the equivalent of the GM dagger, so for me it’s t1 equivalent. As for afking your way to weapons, it’s a multiple week / month grind to get them. Having perds or corehound tooth drop from a raid would likely be wayyyy quicker.
