Why is the game awful? I’m not saying I disagree, just asking for an actual elaboration of what has the game so awful in your opinion. For me I don’t think tuning is the only issue, game has always been (outside of last season MOP) unbalanced to a degree or geared towards some classes over others. Melee cleaves being meh right now and caster dominance can feel terrible just due to the sheer amount of people that play melee over caster. That alone causes a significant participation drop.
If I had to pick why this season is just meh it’s, caster centered meta with control melee in between (feral/rogue), lower mmr inflation that’s a multifaceted issue (tuning/bg blitz/participation/No pve incentive), and pacing (burst vs sustain).
What’s your reason?

If blizzard did proper tuning every 2 weeks less people would be incentivised to jump on the fotm wagon.
Funny how I didnt see a single SP for the first 4 weeks before its buffs and its now in every lobby, the rerollers must just love the playstyle.
But because blizzard doesn’t care, certain specs can be broken for months and when they finally nerf it, fotm rerollers will go to the next fotm and will get to enjoy that for another few months, while certain specs can go years without being good. So nice.
Probably had more to do with player perception than the actual buffs they got, Spriest were doing pretty good on the beta. Known to be tanks.
On top of that fury war ate a few nerfs and uhdk did as well which of course just help spriest take over further.
But yeah they really do need to be much faster and less light handed with the adjustments to curb the disgusting amount of FoTM patch rerolling going on these days. Affliction has been nerfed like 3 times now and its still a problem.
Also things like frost mage and feral have overall gotten buffed, like they aren’t even trying honestly.
Expansion just started and it already feels like a fated s4 patch.
Okay, but we HAVE had small tuning every 2 weeks that HAS been targeting overperforming and underperforming specs.
I don’t think we’re done yet, but I REALLY think most classes are pretty solid.

Where are the pres, disc, feral, rogue, mage nerfs???
These classes just keep magically evading nerfs or in the case of mage blizzards love child it always gets compensation buffs so its never bad.
Both got substantial nerfs and are arguably worse now than hpally that got a 15% buff to holy shock, a 10% buff to wall, and 10% mana regen.
Healer balance was a canyon and is now actually pretty close.
Rogue did get nerfs and actually doesn’t feel TERRIBLE atm, more the synergy with SP amd lock and mage that makes it so nuts.
Feral I have NO idea how every nerf has also come with a buff, that needs real nerfs.
Mage also isn’t as nuts as the other ones, but I think has a design flaw that should be looked at.
When you look at the upcoming pvp tuning for the 20th ani patch that is meant to be a big patch. Are you honestly saying that blizzard is putting considerable effort in tuning?
When you look at how consistently dominant sub rogue is and how consistently bad frost dk is expansion after expansion, is that blizzard putting their best effort in maintaining their game?
Conveniently leaves out spriest. 
A lot of class changes coming, willing to bet they wait & see for a week what happens then does more tuning accordingly.

True HORROR lol.
The only class that got nerfed was warrior, the other classes and specs just got a slap on the wrist because their respective class developers are on a power trip.

Mage got a 40% nerf to ice lances, which is 40% of our dmg, a 25% nerf to our shields, we are probably A- tier now, not S.
oh god forbid you gotta spend some time polying someone to do some damage now instead of brute force murdering someone with the least of effort
